Mobile Suit Gundam - FF-XII-Fb Core Fighter II Full Burnern

I got this some years ago paid a little more to bypass the blind-box trading figure for FF-XII-Fb Core Fighter II Full Burnern. This Core Fighter II Full Burnern Type is used by Kou Uraki as the cockpit section of the RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern. We can clearly see the beam sabers and large booster pods on the Core Fighter Plane. 

This figure is from the line-up of Bandai's second Core Fighter Selection trading figure series lineup includes FF-X7 Core Fighter anime color version (for RX-78-2 Gundam), FXA-07GB Core Fighter (for MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam), FF-XII-Fb Core Fighter II-Fb (for RX-78GP01 Fb Gundam 01 Fb), Core Fighter (for WD-M01/System-Turn-A99 Turn A Gundam), and FF-X7 Core Fighter pearl color version (for RX-78-2 Gundam), for a total of five possible types to trade and collect. 

The plane figure is considerably big measuring approximately 10cm and comes with its own display base printed with its data. It even indicated Kou Uraki as the pilot. Apart from the stand, there are other gimmicks such as the optional parts of either using the landing gears or using the cover that patch up the gaps below. 

The white plastic parts look pretty raw and I expect yellowing with time if left in the open. I do like the metallic paint on the afterburner and those sharp fine markings on the toy. I believed the addition of panel lines will improve the aesthetic of the toy.

MG Zaku II Type F2 (Earth Federation Version) MS-06 F-2

The F2 version of the Zaku II was an upgraded version produced during the One Year War as the original unit was becoming obsolete, a variant of the original MS-06F Zaku II. Introduced in the middle of the One Year War because the original F-Type Zaku II was becoming outdated with the newer, more powerful Zaku variants, and later the more efficient MS-09B Dom and MS-14A Gelgoog mobile suit lines. The overall combination of a more powerful reactor and less weight made the F2 Type a more agile and maneuverable combatant. With these upgrades, the F2 Type would also be on a more equal ground when the Earth Federation began to field their first mass production mobile suit, the RGM-79 GM. 

After the end of the One Year War OYW, the captured Zaku II from Zeon were enrolled into the service of Earth Federation the this assigned to Australia as mock up enemy units during test type exercise which explained the beige desert colour scheme. It's paintball game in Gundam Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory! Uniquely to this gunpla kit is the bonus paintball splat decals to stimulate the unit been shot however it didn't use it on mine. Salvaged post-war by the EFSF for use as training mechas for their cadets, particularly for combat practice. This unit was captured by the Federation and put to use as a training unit. It was repainted in standard ground colours and one example was piloted by Chuck Keith. The training units were armed with paint rounds and the decals include the distinct red blotch like it's been hit in a paintball skirmish.. No, that big red splat on its shoulder isn't some poor hapless soul catapulted against it during the war! 

This version released in 2003 has its very own modified 120mm rifle with grenade launcher, kind of like those M-203 used U.S soldiers. Although this is not a version 2.0 kit, it is more advanced than some of the earlier Zaku MG models and is a very solid kit. This version also comes with the extra armor panels for the head while the zeon version has the commander antenna. What a shame, I didn't add pics of extra armor panels for the head. I had used custom convex len mono eye sticker and added extra water slide decals. The finished kit was sprayed matte and applied with brown weathering. The rifle was sprayed black and dry brushed with silver.

1/100 Scale GM Cannon II Conversion Parts

It's a big step to embark on any conversion parts, to think that all had to be started for scratch. I believed the original conversion parts to GM Cannon II was by B-Club. Unfortunately, the ones by B-Club had became rare and often overpriced. I instead ordered mine from E2046. Its came in resin parts and required a MG GM Custom as the basic kit. Glad to have this conversion parts though the remoulded parts lacked details and some did fix well, therefore required a lot of filing and puttying. Once again, I would emphasise that my work was amateur and I wanted some to try to build this kit as close as the mecha would look in the anime. The spraying was done using epoxy spray cans with the choice of Tamiya military colours, AS-5 Light Blue (Luftwaffe) and AS-14 Olive Green (USAF). 

This time round, I wanted a simpler finish, so I decided to use a few more prominent water-slide decals and had especially chosen the pegasus emblem of Albion squad. I'm pretty proud with the overall finished product and welcomed GM Cannon II to the ranks of 1/100 scale GM in my collection. The thrill of having GM Cannon II pose beside MG GM Custom and Lt South Burning.       

HGUC RGC-83 Gundam GM Cannon II

RGC-83 GM Cannon II is a mobile suit from the anime OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Heavily armed and with long ranged two shoulder-mounted beam cannons. Deployed as support unit to GM Custom and defender to Albion carrier. Versatile at mid range with 90mm machine gun as well as beam saber for close combat. Above all are the 60mm vulcan guns mounted in the head at last-resort. It uses Chobham armor based on the same design as the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex". However, its dexterity was at the expense of agility. There are few in number and is not seen much in action after 0083 while GM Custom migrated to GM Quel when Titans came in power. 

I had used a mixture water-slide decals and especially like the Albion emblem (Pegasus). Had used red marker on some parts. Did some penal lining before top coat with matte surface. The kaki green stands out with matte top coat however the light grey portion remained pale.
