Pretty lucky to score these gashapon during my last Tokyo trip π―π΅✨. Mobile Suit Gundam Capsule Action “Hatsune Miku Color Ver.” figures featuring the iconic RX-78-2 reimagined in Miku’s signature black, teal and light grey palette π©΅π€π©Ά. The 9cm articulated Gundam packs impressive detail and poseability for a capsule toy release.
Also included is the adorable Gundam × Hatsune Miku anniversary figure with Miku suited up in a pink Zaku-inspired spacesuit π©·ππ€. A fun crossover celebrating 45 years of the Gundam legacy while blending mecha culture with virtual idol charm. Small scale, big personality, and definitely one of the cooler capsule toy finds from Tokyo ππ».

Gundam Inspired GunDog RJ-69 by Luke Smells Good
t’s a new-type dog and I would like to call it the GunDog πΆπΎ. RJ-69 OG by Luke Smells Good π€✨. A playful tribute to classic Gundam aesthetics, rocking the iconic white, blue, red, and yellow colorway π€π❤️π
The sculpt keeps things fun and slightly mischievous, especially with that cheeky design twist at the back. Cute at first glance, but with just enough attitude to stand out on the shelf. Love how it blends nostalgic mecha vibes with a lighthearted, almost satirical form. Definitely one that makes you do a double take π .

Gundam Inspired RJ-69 OG by LukeSmellsGood
RJ-69 OG by LukeSmellsGood π€⭐️ . A playful tribute to the iconic aesthetics of Mobile Suit Gundam, this robot rocks the classic white, blue, red, and yellow color scheme with a bold star emblem shining on its chest. The chunky proportions, squared limbs, and simple mechanical detailing instantly channel those nostalgic retro mecha vibes.
But the closer you look, the more the humor kicks in π
. The sculpt hides a cheeky twist — the back of the head and spray gun are boldly shaped into a “dickhead” form, while the torso logo carries another mischievous nod. It’s that perfect mix of classic mecha homage and irreverent bootleg toy art humor.
And it doesn’t come alone! This OG set includes its own quirky little pilot riding along, adding even more personality to the piece. A fun, slightly naughty, and totally unique addition to the shelf π€π❤️π.

KOLLECTRON Shin Zaka SW-78
Shin Zaka SW-78 from the KOLLECTRON soft vinyl line is a playful and subversive take on classic Gundam iconography. At first glance, it echoes the unmistakable silhouette and color blocking of the RX-78-2 Gundam, but a closer look reveals its true identity—a Zaku II cleverly disguised as a Gundam.
Rendered in a super-deformed, chunky proportion, the figure blends Gundam’s heroic tricolor scheme with unmistakable Zeon traits: the mono-eye visor, spiked shoulder armor, and militaristic Zaku detailing. The result is a charming visual contradiction—part Federation hero, part Zeon grunt—capturing the tongue-in-cheek spirit KOLLECTRON is known for.
The soft vinyl construction gives it a solid, toyetic presence, while the retro-inspired packaging and illustrated box art further reinforce its homage to classic mecha toys. Shin Zaka SW-78 isn’t just a mash-up—it’s a clever commentary piece that celebrates Gundam history with humor, nostalgia, and unmistakable designer-toy flair.

Luke Smell Good RJ-69 Gundam Inspired (Black)
If you think Gundam?! Think again … Luke Smell Good RJ-69 in a striking black, silver, and red colorway — a clear homage to classic Gundam aesthetics. The chunky proportions, squared limbs, and mechanical detailing give it that unmistakable retro mecha vibe, amplified by the glossy sofubi finish. The yellow eyes pop sharply against the dark helmet, while the red accents and star emblem add a bold, almost militaristic contrast.
But look closer and the humor reveals itself. The back of the head and spray gun are unapologetically sculpted into a dickhead shape, and the torso logo follows suit with another cheeky phallic motif — classic Luke Smell Good irreverence sneaking beneath an otherwise serious robot silhouette. From the front it reads like a noble super robot; from the back, it’s pure lowbrow satire π. A perfect blend of homage and subversion — equal parts Gundam tribute, street-art humor, and designer toy mischief.

Gundam Bootleg Chonker Model Kit
First build of 2026 - I wouldn’t exactly call this Gunpla — it’s more of a bootleg take on the RX-78-2 Gundam, the box says “Chonker.” Chunky proportions and all, it’s undeniably cute, but the build experience itself wasn’t particularly enjoyable.
Maybe I’m a little rusty, but I clearly remember having more fun assembling legit SD Gundam kits. The magnetic joints didn’t help much, and a few parts even needed gluing — which felt like unnecessary extra work for what’s supposed to be a simple, beginner-friendly kit.
That said, the waterslide decals are a definite plus and do elevate the final look. End result? Fun to display, less fun to build.

Gundam RX-78-2 GQuuuuuuX
When the Gundam universe collides with Evangelion! Front and center is a striking Genkai Toppa–style White Gundam, portrayed in a bold, supercharged palette reminiscent of crossover mecha energy. Although not tied to an actual series, this piece channels the spirit of Mobile Suit Gundam with a playful multiverse twist.
This dynamic figure is produced by Banpresto and stands at approximately 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its armor features layered panels of crisp white, vibrant red, deep blue, and vivid yellow, giving it a heroic, power-up aesthetic. Mechanical detailing along the limbs and torso adds depth and gives it that high-energy “limit break” feel.
In the background, you can spot figures clearly inspired by Evangelion Units, amplifying the sense of a crossover moment— Gundam’s clean, angular armor juxtaposed with Evangelion’s organic, stylized forms. A fun and visually striking display piece, perfect for collectors who love bold reinterpretations and dream matchups between iconic mecha worlds.

RX Rascal by Mechdesigns Gundam RX-78-2 Colorway
RX Rascal by Mechdesigns, released in 2023, continues the celebrated Rascal series with a bold mecha-inspired evolution. This edition draws direct influence from the legendary RX-78-2 Gundam, adopting its unmistakable “White Devil” colorway — a crisp fusion of white, blue, red, and yellow that instantly evokes the spirit of classic mobile suit heroism.
Yet beneath the heroic palette lies mischief: the RX Rascal merges the angelic aesthetics of Gundam with the sly personality of Samael, the charming yet devilish rascal at the heart of the line. The contrast between the disciplined, mechanical armor and the playful, impish expression gives the piece its unique duality — a blend of order and chaos, cuteness and menace.
Every sculpted detail captures this balance: smooth mechanical contours meet mischievous proportions, making RX Rascal both an homage to anime mecha legacy and a continuation of Mechdesigns’ distinctive rascal charm.
