Linebarrels of Iron

I now summoned 'Linebarrels' after another dose of poison from Guy 'A', after the already lethal injection of 'Muv-Luv' and Super Robot Wars OG Inspector (I will soon come to that). I must admit that 'Linebarrels of Iron' has a solid storyline with critical plotlines. Apart from the serious mecha action, this anime also contains a lot of humour. You will notice some parodies, one of which on Gundam Seed and you can find a lot of 'Maison Ikkkoku' reference in Linebarrels ... a nice touch. In episode 5, with the introduction of the pilots and their mecha, a lady holding the cardboard just gave me stitches...

When I just started watching 'Linebarrels of Iron', I find the opening song similar to 'Code Geass' style, which the tune isn't quite my taste. The mecha in the anime also ain't really to my liking. Despite of these, the anime still manages to captivate me and to an extend that I have temporary cast aside watching 'Gundam Age', 'Muv-Luv' and SRW OG.

Personally, I find 'Linebarrels of Iron' is an well-balanced anime with some fan-services till it goes tentacles! This is outrageous! Maybe, a little nose bleeding and lost of composure depending on your threshold. It's entertaining seeing, Kouichi Hayase, becoming a true hero of justice surrounded by gals! How rewarding! Guy 'A' and I unanimous agreed on, Miu Kujō, being our favourite female character! Sweet gentle looking long hair, girl-next-door with voluptuous figure! Guess what?! Miu is voiced by none other than Aya Hirano! The sex scandal embroiled seiyu.

ps: Special thanx to Guy 'A' for his inputs on this post..

It's was strongly recommended by Guy 'A' so I watched without not much expectation and was caught by surprise. It's the kind of mecha anime which I felt was nice and too short. Must watch! I honestly give it a rating above Muv-Luv.

Love this anime. I stumbled upon it myself when flipping through my old copy of Hobby Japan and found the mechas and character designs appealing. Definitely a sleeper hit for me. Enjoyed it all the way and it turns us into "Heroes of Lustice"! Hahaha

The mecha design is rather unique I would say and like EVA, it didn't appeal to me that much. Maybe, I'm with Gundam anime too long.

Bro, you have definitely shown me to mecha anime bigger than Gundam universe. Like you, I'm very much drawn into this anime, among those good ones which I had watched. Epic maybe. I'm evolving to a hero of luctice too! Lolz...

That was a whole episode of fan service and the plot jumped straight after. I hope my comment is not a spoiler. Give it a try bro!

I was watching this and for some darn reason stopped. I need to pick this back up as the Mecha designs just rock in this series.

I always have the idea that you are open to a variety of mecha anime. It seems that there are more positive comments on the Linebarrels, probably I should relook it again. Hope I won't spend again for the toy. Lolz...
