MS In Pocket RGM-122 Javelin

It’s an extremely hard to find this GM! To my knowledge, ‘MS In Pocket’ series is the only version of this mecha in the form of toy. Alternatively, you might consider the vintage 1/144 model kit which I have yet to review. I got managed to obtain this from fleamarket which came loose without an accessories. So the weapon you see here are those savaged from Victory Gundam. A little facts about this mecha. RGM -122 aka Javelin was manufactured and widely used by EFSF as mass-produced MS in the late era of UC0150 (Appearance on Victory Gundam anime series). As usual, this descendant of the first GM suffered the same fate of cannon fodder, proven highly ineffective against the Zanscare Empire MS.

The toy was produced in 1993 by Bandai, the same timing when the anime was aired. It’s in the scale of 1/144 but seems kind of miniature to me. The sculpt is pretty accurate for an old toy. Many joints I would say for a small toy so it’s pretty posable. The joints are a bit loose but since I’m not the first owner, I won’t know the kind of abuse the toy went through before it reached my hands. Overall, it’s a cool toy and nice addition to my fleet of GM collection.

The MS in Pocket series was a great way to collect the Gundam in a smaller package.

Very nice display and I love the energy shields that came with them. Really added a great touch to the figure

Agreed bro, it very easy for storage and compliment well other GM on display. The beam shield is the niche on Gundam Victory series...

Ha! Ha! This is a lucky catch. Many praises for Japanese's dedication In making high quality toy in the eighties and early nineties. Those toys that's made to last...

this is a nice design of mecha... also the color scheme is very appealing (it reminds me a bit of the Calamity Gundam) and it has a resemblance as well with the mechas of Patlabor... the toy is actually in a good condition after all those years (it was made of plastic resin, so it explains all)... on the other hand, why the Gundam faction made it so weak ??? it deserved a better fate... =)

Bro, glad you always get what you wanted :)

Well, the colour is certainly closed to Calamity Gundam. The outlook is totally different. Now that you mentioned about Patlabor, I love the anime, so much as the toys too! True that in the past, most of Patlabor's stuffs were resins. I do have a few vintage toys of Patlabor and some newer ones by CMS and Yamato. Missed the series by WAVE. I think they made very awesome Helldiver units. Bandai had also made some really cool Patlabor model kit in Master Grade, some with light-up blinkers too!

Ya bro! This impossible to have everything but concentrate on those I like more and within reasonable budget. At times, having a preloved loose piece is satisfying enough for display or as least owning it. It's also quite cool having some in not so good condition and restoring them with fresh coat of paint and even customizing it, making it the kind of my own.

Oh yes! I have these two mecha toys from Macross 7 too! Cool toys from the 90s! Still like the version more than the newer version in smaller scale.
