Super Dimension Century Orguss 超時空世紀オーガス : 1/40 scale Orgroid - Takatoku

If i'm not wrong, there were two version of Orguss Orgroid released by Takatoku back then in 1983, there were the green and brown visor. I'm happened to be the brown visor version. As you can see, the visor on the head and cockpit cover were tainted brown.

The packaging of this 1/40 scale Orguss shared a lot of resemblances to the 1/55 chunky monkey valkyries made also by Takatoku in the 1980s. This 1/40 scale Takatoku Orguss Orgroid toy is as old as the 1/55 scale Takatoku Macross toy and both the toys are about the same physical size. Just that Orguss was made boarder as a toy with an addition mode which is the 'tank' mode.  1/40 scale Orguss did come with a miniature figure of the pilot, Kei Katsuragi of the Freedom Space Corps.

This is definitely the very first perfect transformation of Orguss achieved by Takatoku and it kind of sad to learn that Takatoku no longer existed but left a legacy of making creativity toys in our hearts. The transformation was very direct as I didn't need to refer to instruction manual changing it to different mode. Unfortunately, mine had some yellowing on the chest and left elbow was pretty loose.  

'Super Dimensional Century Orguss' came from the creator of 'Super Dimensional Fortress Macross' and was introduced shortly after Macross' popularity. Despite the awesome mecha design that comes in four interchangeable modes (fighter, gerwalk, tank, battroid), Orguss anime wasn't very successful. Maybe it's because of the slow and unappealing plot that really turn me off after I had watched only the first few episodes.

Takatoku 1/6300 Scale Macross SDF-1

Takatoku toyline always interest me and this is not exception. I have yet to possess a Takatoku 1/3000 scale SDF-1 but this recent buy is a good start. Unlike the bigger version, this toy can't be transformed into the battleship and stands only 8". I bought it on Ebay and I would say the toy is still in pristine condition. There's only little shelf-wear on the box, stickers unapplied, joints are tight and no yellowing. Fun-factor would be the tip of Macross cannon that has got spring action shoot-out. The small parts were originally sealed in plastic sachet but I took them out to play. Ha! Ha!

Macross Gashapon Capsule Machine DX

Macross Vending Machine DX was bought from a collector on Macrossworld.com. Box is in decent condition, but has a good amount of shelf ware. It's definitely a novelty item that you won't see everyday especially when Takatoku, the maker had already got busted. Even from the 80s, this item is still mint in the box and it gives me a 100% chance to win Macross figurines still in capsules. Ha! Ha!

I would say it's a miniature capsule machine manned for display on table top. It standing around 15cm with cute little capsules containing rubber Macross figurines. The box also comes with three other larger rubber Macross figurines (you see in the last 2 pics). This toy gives me an idea of getting a bigger capsule machine for my kids to play with.

You have seen the 1/40 scale Orguss Olson Version, so let me introduced you to the little brother which is 1/60 scale. The box artwork of the 1/60 scale is almost similar to its bigger version. However, the 1/60 scale could only be transformed between battroid mode and tank mode. I bought this Orguss from CSC fleamart and it’s in MIB condition, C8 for box, C8 for toy, complete accessories with stickers unapplied.
