Gasaraki - Raiden Armor 1/35 Scale (Built & Painted)

Amazingly by switching to alter parts, the kit can go down to its stand-down pose for maintenance just what we see in the anime.

I'm cool with the pilot sitting figure but not Yushiro Gowa in his military uniform. As such I another set of Raiden Armor 1/35 Scale in Neo-Type, the blue Type -1 EX just for the standing figure in pilot suit and have it hand painted to Yushiro's test pilot suit.

I have hand painted these figures and used washing technique on the black area and lines.

The kit comes with sticker decals which I have applied. I especially like the insignia and J.S.S.D.F stickers.

I have applied Tamiya Weathering Master (B) Rust colour to the edges to create the shading effect.

Ishtar Tactical Armor Mk-II (MFX-02 Metal Fake) is indeed larger than Raiden Armor in 1/35 scale.

Gasaraki Raiden Armor in Super Robot Wars SRW

This mecha anime may have much forgotten by many if not for a rerun on  Crunchyroll. Nevertheless, it holds an important role in my many years of watching mecha anime. Some may  probably not know that Bandai has even released stuff like this. This is in fact my second post on the model kit on his mecha anime, the first being 1/35 Scale Ishtar Tactical Armor Mk-II (MFX-02 Metal Fake). Ishtar Tactical Armor Mk-II (MFX-02 Metal Fake) In comparison Ishatar is indeed larger than Raiden Armor in 1/35 scale. This anime has certainly some of the coolest mecha design (Tank like yet unique design) that looks at the replacement of military armored tank in our not so far future.

Here's about Gasaraki - The flames of war are fanned in the Middle East as two secretive forces unleash their latest weapons of mass destruction. But in a world where giant robots take their place on the battlefield, the most dangerous weapon of all lies buried within a human mind. Yushiro, the fourth son of the mysterious and powerful Gowa family, finds himself at the center of events that may change the future of mankind forever! (Credits Crunchyroll)

Here's it capability - The Raiden is the third TA-type system to be deployed, after Symbol's Ishtar Mk I and Ishtar Mk II. It was created using a better quality sample of Kugai muscle than the Isthar, making its actuators somewhat more efficient. The greatest advantage of the Raiden over conventional armored vehicles is mobility. With a top speed of 65 kph, even over moderately rough terrain, the Raiden can outpace American built armored units like the M1 Abrams and M2 Bradly. Skillful use of the foot anchors allow a Raiden to make near 90 degree turns while running full out. At only 4.4 meters tall, Raidens can hide behind single story structures or and even enter buildings by crawling on hands and knees. (Credits Gasaraki Wiki)

It has been quite a while I decided to commit my time on building my own kit and have it fully sprayed and painted. I have chosen Tamiya colour for aircraft AS-15 TAN (USAF) as the primary colour for this kit. The basic articulation is pretty alright for an old kit, very much like a HG Gunpla equivalent and there is even unpainted figures thrown in. The snap-built is simple and I have used super glue on some parts and had the seam lines sanded down. Amazingly by switching to alter parts, the kit can go down to its stand-down pose for maintenance just what we see in the anime. I have applied Tamiya Weathering Master (B) Rust colour to the edges of the kit to create the shading effect. The kit comes with sticker decals which I have applied. I especially like the insignia and J.S.S.D.F stickers.

The 2 unpainted figures thrown in are the male protagonist Yushiro Gowa who is also the test pilot of Raiden Armor. He is a quiet, withdrawn teenage boy who is viewed as a tool through which his elder brothers in the Gowa Family seek to further their goals. He is a member of a special JSDF unit charged with testing the TA system. As a test pilot, he is found to possess the ability to synchronize to an extraordinary degree with the TA hardware, and in particular with the Mile One synthetic muscle tissue (a process described as a "Mental Burst"). It's very awesome to have the sitting pilot placed in the cockpit area and excellent gimmick that the rear of the mecha can open up as the pilot's mode of entry. I have hand painted these figures and used washing technique on the black area and lines.
