Beauty and the Mecha line of figure collection, kept at an amazingly decent prize. Neon Genesis Evangelion's main protagonist female pilot, Rei Ayanami 綾波 レイ of prototype Unit-00, to kick off EVA figure collection, now considered pretty vintage, released back in early Oct 2009, quality figures Sega Prize figures are a great starting point. Standing at 8" (23cm) towering even my LM HG Unit-00 model kit is this elegant figure of Rei in her beloved EVA Plug Suit. Gorgeous figure capturing the elegant / gentleness of Rei, painted immaculately with detail with only mild blemishes and paint smudges.
I totally loved the Zero '0' painted on her chest and the back of the suit. Not to mention those cute hair clips and metallic screw heads on the plug suit. Figure stand on a square white base with Nerv Logo that says 'God's in his hand heaven, all's right with the world'. Rei certainly re-innovate the way most look at anime girls, it's no wonder she is called the "Premium Girl" by the media as well as tourism ambassador to the land of the rising sun.

I thought at first that it was a statue in a different pose by Kotobukiya, which also has the license of this franchise, but it’s kind of surprising to know that SEGA did their own rendition of this cute an enigmatic character... The work on the face is specially laudable, it captures somehow her baffling look and the display base complements very well this piece, with a more than decent size !!!... =D
I will take Rei over any Eva any day. This is iconic look with the suit. Good score bro!
after many years now, it's great to see products of Rei Ayanami is still being around glorified by the fans and collectors alike....

SEGA figurines standard is as good as their former 16-Bits and they are heading a good direction! Better than expected quality for a reasonable price : )
