Akiba Culture Zone & Mottainai Flea Market

There were really so much to blog about my Otaku trip with Agent 'S' and I hope you are still following. This post will cover our findings @ Akiba Culture Zone and Mottainai Flea Market....

Akiba Culture Zone is a 6-storey-building packed with Otaku stuff with the first two level with manga and anime related books and magazines (K-Books). Moving up, we were thrilled to find toy shops and the fatal attraction would certainly be those sale cabinets. Lotz of toys from new to pre-loved, even custom built Gunpla. Look carefully, you might find gems you had been searching or perhaps a good deal of some sort. There's also 'Big Smile' Cafe at the top most level for munchy and at the same time, admire the figures under 'Big Smile' license.

My apologies for not including our coverage on Mottainai Flea Market during my previous posting on UDX anime center. Mottainai Flea market takes place about once a month, on a certain Sunday, outside the UDX building near Akihabara station. It's open concept and only possible during good weather. Agent A and I would lucky enough to experience it. I remembered the weather was still pretty cold for me but the loot were awesome!

poisonous !!! o___X... actually, sometimes is good to be really far from Japan and keep temptation at bay LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL... the flea market, when it comes to collectibles, is not developed in my hometown, not even the specialized stores use to have "preloved" items, because most of the people are looking for brand new products... this practice is still in the boundaries of the guild of collectors, which are more open minded... also, we are invaded by bootlegs and people want original items at the price of bootlegs, which makes this business something difficult... =O

Sweet memories, got to do both too myself.
In the cabinets i amaged to score some great old MSV gunpla kits for less than retail which cost SO much on ebay.

Just like me it looks like you enjoyed all the built and painted gunpla, great photos hope you got more coming.

I'm staying away from fleamarket after I came back from Japan. Indeed poisonous and have been quite successful keeping a good distance from buying toys. I guess every collectors would wanted the best deal in town and my principle is that best deal is when seller and buyer are in a win-win situation.

I think it's not so much of 1/6 and I guess the heat wave of HT hasn't tanned our Japanese friend.

Most Japanese had to work even on Sunday and there would a Golden Sunday in every month where they take a break. It's the time they have flea market. This was told to me by Agent S...
