Don's Invitational - Gundam GM Collection

I have always been a big fan of grunt unit like the GM and definitely won't want to miss the opportunity meeting a fellow GM collector, especially one who is even more hardcore and dedicated than me in building GM kits. Certainly an eye-opening experience, visiting Don's house with feeling the overwhelming saturation of GMness, the moment I stepped into his bedroom.

Don has almost anything GM related stuff from vintage kits, exclusives, trading figures, bash kits, action figures to gasaphons. Even though Don hasn't spent as much time nowadays on model kits, his impressive airbrush skill could be seen from his works, take for example those built vintage GM kits from F91 series. My Gunpla skills are not even close to that level.

In the past, Don used to customize his GMs injecting unique characteristic and some ahead of time. A wide collection of GM kits and toys that had appeared in varies Gundam timelines from the first GM in O.Y.W to Shadoll Custom in Gundam Age. There were also great finds like the different Japan exclusive HG kits and the ultra rare 'A Baua Qu' Gundam Ride exclusive GM set.

Indeed, wished those nicely built GM were in my shelves instead. Ha! Ha! I was told that you can only buy the kit after taken the ride at the amusement park in Japan and the ride had seized operation.

It's like wow wow wow all the way when I visited Don's place. Such coverage is definitely an exclusive on my blog.

apart from the incredible "iteration" of the GM corps., what caught my attention the most was the backlog of kits... i don’t know if that’s a common craze of the collectors but is my malady too LOL...

is great to meet new friends/collectors and a pleasure to "invade" their domains... you know, the collectibles speak more about their owner than about themselves and the stories behind them are an interesting topic to begin a nice conversation... we are usually "hermetic" with most of the people who don’t understand our hobby but somehow we "open the door" to our colleagues and create special bonds... =)

I'm also in the common craze of buying model kit after another model kit without bothering much on my backlog. It's just the habit and habit dies hard. Hee! Hee!

Very true that the collection had speaks from the collector and good hobby is surely something we shouldn't be shy or ashamed to share. Like most anime promoting peace would say 'It's time to understand each other'.

That is really an awesome collection and he has then displayed very nicely. I like seeing the model kits with the smaller gash toys.

Indeed an awesome collection and somehow the combination of Model kits, trading figures and gasaphons of the same genre blend well so the display stand out.
