Mega Size Gundam Touch Up

Due to tight schedule and having to juggle between work, family and fitness, there has been much delay to the task entrusted by Leon 'Open the Toy'. My apologies bro!

No more excuses and here I am working on this magnificent Mega Size 1/48 Gundam RX-78-2. First thing first is to file off the studs before spraying. Good thing the kit comes neat with the requirement of only basic colours like white, blue, grey and red.

I have basically used three different can sprays. The red area of the original kits seems kind of orangish as such I use of red paint to enhance the redness. The kit is mainly white and hence the use of white spray would give it a wellness finish. I did a little experiment using transparent matt spray and the result is brillant. The spray kind of removes the plastic look of the kit making it more real. However due my lousy spraying technic, some parts appeared whitish as a result of thick coat. Thankfully, I managed to remove them with the use of plastic thicker.

I have first tried using black water-base paint and toothpick to draw panel lines. But even the use of wet cloth to rub off the excess spill seems difficult and messy. To save the trouble, I returned to the use of gundam marker.

The last step was to give the gundam a more metallic realism so I do a little hand painting to the thrusters with silver chrome paint. I will take more pics of this babe as soon as I complete spraying it. So much for now! Ta! Ta!

Try to find some joy of hobby from tight schedule I suppose. I hate the time waiting for the paint to dry up. Ha! Ha!
