Silverhawks Quicksilver Figure

Who would forget the catchy tune of the opening song of this cartoon "Wings of silver, nerves of steel Silverhawks!". I didn't have this figure as a kid and I'm glad to still be able to obtain it now that I have the buying power. The company responsible to this cool toy is Kenner in the 80's (1986 to be more precise). The figure stands approximately 5".

The silver paint nature on the figure makes the figure extra hard to maintain at pristine condition. Mine has some chrome wear and scratches but I impressed how well the figure had resisted oxidation.  Can still see the logo on the chest and that's a winner. The figure has an awesome gimmick of spreading its wings when you pressed the legs close together. Quicksilver has his trusty hawk that can cling on his arm.

I remember this animated series too (we are getting older, HEHEHE)!... At that time, however, I didn’t know anything about toys or collectibles based on the series so it’s the first time I see one of them and a vintage one, created by Kenner... It has stood the test of time very well and yeah, chrome finishing is quite delicate when is applied on plastic, but its charm in a toy is undeniable and it brings back some of the 80’s geekery!...

I remember I used to own the cowboy with guitar, red mon-star and this silver hawk figures. But I gave them to neighbors when moved to Singapore. what a shame!!

Yeah! Chrome is hard to preserve... This figure relive my memories and love the cartoon and the opening song. Lots of nostalgia...

I have a couple of the toys as a kid and gave them away too.. It’s strange that now we look back and want the toy with the memories back...
