Pacific Rim - HG Obsidian Fury

At straight built, the kit may seem a bit plain (semigloss black) and it will look a lot better with some dry brushing like I did.

I have used yellow paint as panel lines to some areas like energy running through the mecha

Twin Plasma Chainsaws - To make the blade saws more realistic, I need to use black Gundam marker to paint the center portion.

Double hinge joints on elbows and kneels

Pacific Rim certainly one of my favourite sci-fi movie in recent years and how cool for it to be have a sequel "Uprising". Pacific Rim never forgets to pay homage to past monsters and mecha movie such as Godzilla, Gundam and Transformers. In my opinion, Obsidian Fury is like Transformers Nemesis Prime in world of Pacific Rim. The Jaeger shrouded in mystery from Pacific Rim: Uprising, Obsidian Fury, will be available in the HG line-up! Obsidian Fury's sleek design has been faithfully recreated. Clear parts and multi-dimensional textures are used in the head to mimic Obsidian Fury's appearance in the movie.

Who won't love to see an evil version of the good guy (Jaeger). In the past, we would relate Pacific Rim figures to NECA however Bandai has stand up with both action figure (Robot Tamashii) and even model kit of Pacific Rim mecha. Here we have a non-scale HG Obsidian Fury standing 6" (15cm). The kit is considerably neat as the seams are hidden. At straight built, the kit may seem a bit plain (semigloss black) and it will look a lot better with some dry brushing like I did. In addition, I have used yellow paint as panel lines to some areas like energy running through the mecha. IMHO, the overall look of Obsidian Fury is sleeker than Gipsy Avenger.

There are a few clear orange parts like the visor and Twin Plasma Chainsaws. To make the blade saws more realistic, I need to use black Gundam marker to paint the center portion. As for articulation, it's highly nimble and posable and I do praise the double hinge joints on elbows and kneels. Showcasing a wide range of articulation and its iconic "Twin Plasma Chainsaws" on both of its arms. The collar and shoulder pads may restrict the head and shoulders movement however it's not much of a big deal.

I would love to see Bandai making the model Kits for the Jaegers from the first movie even though i think it won't be anytime soon.

Yeah bro, they should look back on the first movie and come out Jaegers of the same scale. That will be cool!
