1/100 Scale MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam

Set at three years after Char’s Counterattack in UC93, the six-part-OVA 'Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn' continues with great improvisation on mobile suit designs and technologies. When the NT-D activates the destory mode, changing Unicorn Gundam to a destroyer, the internal frames expands to a different outlook. It's more like Gundam now! In full collaboration with the hobby division’s Hajime Katoki, the Unicorn Gundam becomes fully realized as a three-dimensional Master Grade! With a strong emphasis on accurate form, the Unicorn Gundam can transform between Unicorn Mode and N-TD (Destroy) mode.

N-TD mode features an expanding armor, the unicorn horn splits open to V-fin and the Psycho-frame is recreated using transparent red elements to bring out the unique look of the Destroy Mode Unicorn! The part separation are nicely done and pull-out mechanism increases the overall height of the MS in Destroy Mode. Mine is a gift from Stanley and I have used decals from third party to add-in more red markings on this absolutely white Gundam. Applying these fine water-slide decals is no joke! Added penal lines using washing method. I have chosen gloss white top-coat so that the transparent red Psycho-frame would stand out. Last but not least to thank Stanley for this wonderful Gunpla.

Mr. Katoki must be a sort of Midas king, since everything he touches is turned into gold !!!... I have admired his work since the time I got a special version of the classic RX-78-2, customized with certain subtlety and good taste... He has inherent talent to improve an already good design, like what he did with the Wing Gundam and his work on this Unicorn Gundam is amazing; in this particular case, the otherwise swanky psycho-frame, is well balanced with the dose of white and the few accents in blue... This is one of the mecha designs I love the most, despite the fact that, in terms of proportion, the legs look extremely long regarding the rest of the body... =OOOOO =D

Can't agree more to your comment pal.. The endorsements of Mr. Katoki has this charm which somehow brings out the mecha-ness in Gundam. The markings and Psycommu frame making the plain looking Gundam stands out. Mecha from this series are considered the biggest in all U.C timeline.

Seriously, it's the moment Unicorn turned destory mode that threw me off the seat plus the soundtrack rocks!
