Power Rangers Megaforce Armored Mighty Morphin Red Ranger Figure

Can't help having this figure for the reason that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had been apart of my growing up and the Dragon Armor is a damn awesome accessory! I actually was looking for the Green Ranger which I had not seen one locally. The other reason was that this figure was on sale and I succumbed to temptation. It was priced a lot cheaper that S.H Figuarts and stands taller too (7") I did some searches on YouTube and found scenes that Green Ranger had temporarily lent his Dragon Armor to Red Ranger for protection. It was sweet that Bandai released this commemoration Red Ranger figure with complimentary Dragon Armor and Dragon Sword. The Dragon Armor and arm bands were originally plastic yellow with some shine (like those of BB Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors). So for better accuracy to what I saw in the show, I had removed stripes fasting the armor and in addition, I had use Tamiya gold colored spray on the armor and armbands for extra chrome.

One shortcoming of the figure was that Red Ranger was made overly muscular, in a way didn't look faithful to red ranger we saw in the series. This is more like John Cena donning the Red Ranger suit. Well ... After a while, I kind of got used to the physic of the figure. Total of 9 accessories provided an amazing play value with over 20 points of articulation to re-create the most realistic and amazing battle poses. While posing, I noticed the legs kind of lack articulations, it could not kick high and legs seems a bit short. There were two pairs of interchangeable hands and forearms could be pulled out for fit in the arm bands. The pistol and Dragon Sword could be plugged in to both sides of waist. My figure had a bit white paint chipped at torso. Didn't pose much of an issue which can be easier touched up by marker. I'm impressed that the Mighty Morphin belt, even though small however the T-Rex could be seen clearly at close up. It's a robust toy that can withstand even playing by children. Last but not least, the play set also come with a Mighty Morphin Red Ranger card. Free Mighty Morphin Power Rangers mobile phone app could be installed and when the app was activated, scanned the card with the phone and short videoclip of the Red Ranger would be played.

HEHE... in this review, at some point, you truly sounded a like happy kid getting exactly what he was expecting and well, that’s a great feeling that we share as collectors !!!...

i’m not a particular fan of Power Ranger ( i grew with Seigi wo Ai Suru Mono - Gekkō Kamen (正義を愛する者 - 月光仮面) and Mazinger Z instead =P ), but this figure reminded me the old figures i loved in my infancy... it looks sturdy, clean, very well molded (more like a hero and less like the androgynous characters of the TV series) and it has a more than decent level of articulation... it’s what i would call a sweet deal actually !!!... =D

Ha! Ha! I had let my child nature out. I really adored this figure a lot and it motivated me a lot to get my favourite green ranger on eBay, which is only U.S release. I'm not familiar with Gekko Kamen but know a bit of Mazinger.
