Gundam Core Fighters Selection II RX-78-2 Core Fighter Plane FF-X7

Let's look into the core of Gundam through this blind-box trading figure of FF-X7 Core Fighter design by Mr Kunio Okawara. This figure is from the line-up of Bandai's second Core Fighter Selection trading figure series lineup includes FF-X7 Core Fighter anime color version (for RX-78-2 Gundam), FXA-07GB Core Fighter (for MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam), FF-XII-Fb Core Fighter II-Fb (for RX-78GP01 Fb Gundam 01 Fb), Core Fighter (for WD-M01/System-Turn-A99 Turn A Gundam), and FF-X7 Core Fighter pearl color version (for RX-78-2 Gundam), for a total of five possible types to trade and collect. I only have FF-X7 Core Fighter at the moment, which by the way, is my favourite. This is a Christmas gift from Stanley and an awesome one!

The plane figure is considerably big measuring approximately 10cm and comes with its own display base printed with its data. It even indicated Amuro Ray as the pilot. We know that FF-X7 Core Fighter made up the torso of RX-78-2 Gundam like an escape pod. However, I would think FF-X7 associated more to Sayla Mass, flying it an desperate situation fighting along MS and protecting Trojan White Base. As such, I'm going to invite Sayla Mass to this post to model for FF-X7 Core Fighter. So much for sex sell. Lol

Apart from the stand, there are other gimmicks such as the optional parts of either using the landing gears or using the cover that patch up the gaps below. Another gimmick is that the compartments on top could be flipped opened to reveal the guns. The blue and white parts of FF-X7 came painted. Unfortunately, the red plastic parts look raw and lack the redness. What I did was to draw some panel lines and the usual matte top coat. Ready for display ^_^

The color of the real jet is different from the image it shows on the package.

the Gundam’s Core Fighter, reminds me pretty much the famous (or infamous) Mazinger Z’s Hover Pileder, albeit the position in the mecha design is very different... no doubt, the classics usually set a high standard and manage to captivate us after all these years !!!... this is a great representation, with nice details and complemented by your touch ups, all the models included in this series are very appealing indeed and i can see that despite the inaccuracy in the color scheme, it’s fabulous for display !!!... =D

Indeed, the mild inaccuracy of colours is the shortcoming and happens in a lot of toys...

Indeed, Gundam core fighter and Mazinger Z’s Hover Pileder shared similarities as cockpit as well as escape pod. If I'm correct, Mazinger Z’s Hover Pileder is mounted to the head like a brain on Mazinger Z. Anyway, the most awkward cockpit core fighter goes to Turn A Gundam, situated at the groin! Lolz.. Thanx for the compliment on the representation. I wanted to related the mecha to its pilot and in a way promote Sayla Mass trading figures and mini bust as well. Though the this core fighter trading figure is not perfect and like you guys had pointed out the inaccuracy in colours. Still it fair well other areas and looks awesome when displayed with my Jumbo Grade Gundam ^_^

Thanx for liking it bro! The resin like material of this toy is good quality that kind of supersede the colour. With Sayla around, can't go wrong bro :p
