1/144 HG Murasame Production Type MVF-M11C

Murasame first made its appearance in Gundam Seed Destiny as an all terrains, mass production transformable mobile suit between flight and robot mode. With its Gundam lookalike head design, Murasame was a new generation military defensive force of Orb Union in replacement of Astray Gundam, which featured in the first season of Gundam Seed. In my opinion, Murasame had adopted some design Gundam X's Gundam Air Master and evolved to a more refined look in both modes.

I also like the Gundam looks of Murasame and the simple transformation that transit well even as model kit is truly remarkable. The white and red kind of takes on the colour scheme of its predecessor the 'Astray Gundam' Red Frame. For an alternative colour scheme, Bandai had also released the 'Andrew Waltfeld' version which is yellow and black in colors to suit the 'Desert Tiger'.

It looks impressive in waverider mode as well. Above are pics provided by an active member of Gundam Chit-Chat Club, namely Zong Yang, on his collection. From the background, I could see a few Astray Gundam like operation defending Orb.

for a mass production, the Murasame looks really good, specially for the transformation feature, but as replacement of the Astray... well... not that much... the color scheme in the wave rider mode is more appealing than in the robot mode (too much white for my taste HEHE)... i like how they worked the chest and the legs, also the head design and the huge shield, which is proper for a mass unit (the first to fall), but the shoulders are too squared and simple... somehow it reminds me the Zeta Gundam, in the end, such revolutionary design influenced many mobile suit designs... =)

Yeah! I'm sure the mecha designer had made lotz of thoughts trying to make this MS looks good in both modes ^_^

one of the nicest gundams that can transform to an aircraft. it has its limitations cos the design is from mecha to aircraft, instead of from aircraft to mecha.

I think so as the anime featured the MS more in robot mode and when they battle at sea with ships, they are mostly in plane mode. Which make good sense since Orb is more like an island surrounded by seas.
