My First DSLR

There is this persistent feeling that I have come to point of no longer enabling to maximise the potential of a digital point-and-shoot camera. Even though my current IXUS 80IS is serving me well. However after some hesitation, I had decided to take a step further into photography by getting a DSLR.

I'm certainly not plunging into another expensive hobby but hoping this new gadget could help me take even better pics for your pleasure viewing especially covering event at locations of low lightings. It would good to have another alternative to capture different spectrum of beautiful things and sights. I will still be using my IXUS 80IS hoping both could compliment each other.

My Canon EOS1100D is of a lower range on the sale rack and I actually know little of DSLR at this moment. Guess I'm more attracted to the red Char's colour outlook of this DSLR and hopefully to it gives me morale X3. Nice that the sale assistance had thrown in extra stuff like a canvas sling bag, a Nikon tripod, Nikon cleaning kit, Lens filter and additional 8 GB memory card.

HEY !!! nice addition =OOOOO... the red body is striking !!! both the camera and the extras will help you to improve your pictures... mine is a Canon as well and as you can see in my posts, the processor captures a beautiful range of colors... with a bit of practice you’re going to squeeze the potential of this camera... =D

Got a DSLR over a year ago and find it to be awesome, took me ages to figure out what setting i like but getting all those photo in focus is the best.
You'll need the free bag when you take it out, at first i just had it round my neck and by the end out the day you ache.

From what you guys had told me, DSLR seems like a gadget well invested on. I had a little experience taking pics for my next posting. I took a lot more time but was veri pleased with photos taken.

Haha now you can bring your toy photography to another level Dennis. Once you get hang of your DSLR you may consider to step up for another level for photopgraphy.

I suppose i need to resume taking photographs again rather than wasting my DSLR collecting dust.

I still struggling with the DSLR. Earlier spent a lot of time just taking a few pics of a figure... Guess won't up the level so soon. Thinking of getting a dry box to prevent dust and humidity control.

Ho ho ho! Becareful not to get hooked too much. As I know the shutter sound can be addictive! hahaha!

DSLRs really do need practice for you to achieve its capability level though. Kudos to you and i hope to see glorious shots in the next post!
Cheers!

It's sure enjoyable listening to the sound of shutter while snapping. I did so much today that I'm going crossed eyes viewing through the viewer. I had short tutorial from friends and colleagues and still feel safer now using the default settings.

I guess you are now a "Canonite" with your new camera. Though the 'Nikonian" accessories may cause confusion.

Have fun and enjoy your new 'toy'.

Ha! Ha! I find it weird to have free Nikon accessories while buy Canon camera. But sure wont mind when it's free. My colleague told me to use tripod if going night shoot. Another great advise!

It's an investment which even my wife feels happy for me when I bought. She was with me then and encouraged me to settle with the red.
