By recommendation of a friend, I gave 'Sword Art Online' a try. A light anime on MMORPG which players were trapped and would die for real in the game. An anime that would really appeal to those who like playing RPG games online as it relates a lot on game and of course the terminology. An anime that isn't not too obsessed with fights with a sprinkle of romance that gives game otakus the hope of entering a lovey dovey relationship while trapped in the game. 'Sword Art Online' suited me well as always fancy anime of knight fantasy genre and surely those knight's armour. A few of my colleagues were also watching the same anime and I was told it's really popular. Not forgetting the melody opening and ending songs.
Synopsis
In the near future, a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online has been released where players control their avatars with their bodies using a piece of technology called Nerve Gear. One day, players discover they cannot log out, as the game creator is holding them captive unless they reach the 100th floor of the game's tower and defeat the final boss. However, if they die in the game, they die in real life. Their struggle for survival starts now...

Thanks for recommending this. I'll put it into my Watch-list. If Sankakucomplex recommends this, it muz be good!
The anime is still on going so no one would know how good the ending would be. There were a lot of good critics so far and at certain points, the plot is touching. Good anime without being ecchi. Lolz.
Wow..black and white swordman..something new?
I did enjoy the story line and first season. I am watching the second series now and not sure about the whole Elf thing, but looks cool.

I'm now at episode 13 and the development is veri good so far. Saw some screen shots after the 1st chapter and the elf concept didn't quite capture me. I hope it's not another anime that goes haywire after a wonder first chapter and didn't know how to continue from there or just lengthening the story for the seek of continuation and selling more merchandises.
i’m not such a follower of this genre of anime series (i mean, set in the medieval age), i prefer those with a similar theme to the classics Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Evangelion, etc with a deep questioning of what it takes to be human... also Cowboy Beebop and series like that, with a deceptive banality... =)
I see. Some of those titles that you had mentioned I had watch before but how some at some point the author made is complication for fans to digest. Hee! Hee! Maybe I'm the simple minded type and usually go for light or no brainer comical anime...
surely one of the best animes this year, i am eagerly waiting for every episodes^^
I'm watching episode 14 and hoping to slow down the pace so I won't reach the deadlock so soon.. Lolz...
