To scout for some Starwars stuff @ STGCC 2012, I must. Do I speak like Yoga? Seems like the force was with me to have discovered Starwars stuff at this year STGCC. As a matter of fact, they ain't really hard to find. Hee! Hee! Just entering the event venue, I already saw Singapore Post booth promoting Starwars MyStamp.
The friendly staff had also invited me to browse through the double back covers stamps album. In conjunction with STGCC 2012, SingPost had collaborated with Lucasfilm to come out with a special collector's edition of Starwars MyStamp Collection. Each Collection comes with a book embedded with 11 stamp sheets and is housed in a premium gift box. The Starwars MyStamp Collection includes features of all the important characters found in the different Starwars movies. Example Luke Skywalker, Jedi, Darth Vader and also the different stormtroopers.

Not far away, I found Beautifully sculpted Star Wars Coin Banks , some measuring up to 11 inches tall, brought in by Diamond Comics. Time to save the galaxy one coin at a time! Starwars merchandises were also on sale at 'Simple Toys' booth. It was also a breeze meeting Star Wars costumers roaming around the vicinity. The most impressive should be the 1/1 scale R2D2 that moved, turned the head and got lights! All thanx to the faithful Legion 501st for putting up such splendid performance and display of Starwars stuff all these years.

for some reason, i have a vivid memory of the first trilogy of Star Wars, i mean, it was like the first science fiction movie on my radar... but i feel no attachment to the collectibles based on the saga... they’re too geeky for my taste LOL... XD
My memories also stays mainly with the first trilogy. Starwars Episode 2 & 3 was also remarkable well made in my opinion. So how I'm no keen to collect its toys. I did have a few Starwars figurines back then but sold them off thereafter to concentrate on mecha toys.
501 legion..a bit bored as they show the same thing every year...anyway better than nothing..haha
I gotten give credit to them especially after I met a friend who was previously with the legion. It's not easy to maintain the stormtrooper costume crisp and white. A lot of money forked up and due to the hard parts, it's not easy to transport the costume around.
Time for 'grandpa' to chime in as I remember seeing Star Wars in the theater and Drive-in with my family back in 1977.
Even then I know it was going to be something :D
I wasn't been born in 1977 and WOW! Drive-in is theater is so damn cool! Your parents had planted the seed of sci-fi in you at very young age.
