Just a simple start to 2011 and as simple as the title suggested, this is just a toy of Macross VF-1J in its simplest form that is non-transformable with only a rifle as its only accessory. The paint work ain't detail with some parts painted out of alignment. The figure looks out of proportion like blockhead. So why I do still buy it? I guess having it bring memories of my childhood. Just a simple toy like this in the past be it Macross or Gundam would give boys of my generation lotz of happiness. You can call it the nostalgic feel a vintage toy brings to me.

It's very you bro. How old is this toy again?
if this is made in the 80s then it's still a commendable work. I dont think this brand still exist now though. lol

You know me well bro! The packaging did not state the year of production beside 'Made in Japan', but judging from appearance, It's definitely from the 80's.

Takatoku existed between 1970s and 1980s and this is their earlier toy range before their famous 1/55 scale transformable valkyries. This toy has survived long...
I think simple is a understatement - such a large packaging for such a small figure.
oh, yea, Happy New Year!

In think the Japanese emphasized a lot on packaging so that's way even for a small toy, the toy come with styrofoam insert and was packed in bigger box.
when u say simple, u really mean it !!!... & u hav a strongt nostalgia pal, i must say... i mean, strong enough to buy this toy... i used to hate vintage toys for the simple reason they r vintage & i prefer the the recent ones... however, there r some well manufactured vintage toys with lot of details, but this is not the case, it’s too simple for my taste but suitable for u & that´s the important thing here =)
Cool new avatar so we could see how you look like better. It's true that this toy is too simple and lacks the detail. I got it during the time when I had spare cash when I browse thru eBay the other time.
