The last piece of Bandai's Master Grade Patlabor in my collection would be this Ingram variant or add on that dubbed in Patlabor 'The Mobile Police Movie 2'. Alphonse is given a dash of military grade equipment like the bullet proof jacket. The Reactive Armour shared the some technologies like those used by today's tanks whereby the armour exploded when a projectile draws near, destroying the threat and dissipating the energy away.
The blinkers on Ingram's shoulders had been removed in order to don the jacket. Bandai had used plastic mold for reactive armor on the shield, collar and chest area of the jacket which the green looks really realistic after applying matte top coat and some dry brushing. As I have Ingram 2 and 3 as well, the heads can be swapped.
Rubber tubings are used to emulate the cloth for long arm sleeves but is my opinion not an ideal choice as the rubber seems excessive with obvious tread lines. The rubber tubing would force the arm to straighten after bending. One way is to tighten the screw at the elbow joint, on the other hand I'm afraid to stress the plastic on the stiffened elbow. The optional hands are also different from the previous Ingram as they black and thicker like the Ingram wearing gloves. Other accessories includes unpainted pilot and crew figures.

As I mentioned in a recent post about Patlabor in your blog, this Reactive Armour takes the concept of "humanization of mobile suits" to the next level and it makes me wonder, among other things: how a dressmaker or group of dressmakers would deal creating this combination of jacket, vest and shield cover, for military/security units considering the size of this mecha ???... Even more, why someone would want to create a suit made of a sort of special fabric for a mobile suit ???... And more importantly: why the japanese culture is obsessed by the concept of androids (humanized robots), probably even more than other cultures ???... I mean, you can see the development of this concept in the real life: androids created by japanese companies that are no longer science fiction... Something to think about !!!... =D

Very true bro! Mecha is also human idea of mechanic humanoid and what human wanted to achieve in future or at least how people imagine the future would be like since the 70s. Even robot need extra protection at times of dangerous mission and the full metal jacket is one that make Ingram look more awesome in the movie!

Not exactly uniform but I would rather call it a bullet proof vest.
Robot need bullet proof vest to avoid injury that may cause tear to the skin tissue and loss of blood.... biologically logic but then again it's a robot, an Ingram LOL LOL LOL... maybe next time they will create a pink version Ingram with lots of heart and love stickers on his body to show to the world that the robot needs attention and wanted to be loved by us LOL LOL LOL...

Thx for sharing the love bro! ^_^ I guess the whole concept is to make the Ingram more humanoid and beside the vest does give extra protection to the pilot within.
