Street Fighter Charlie / Nash figurine

Charlie or Nash is one of my favourite ‘Street Fighter’ characters although I’m not exactly good using him as a player in ‘Street Fighter Alpha’. The reason I love playing prequel like ‘Street Fighter Alpha’ very much contribute to Charlie and Dan being playable characters. Charlie's moves are similar to Guile.

I got this figure from Ebay that arrived in blistered card and ripped off rear paperboard. But who cares about the card when I’m interested only interested in the figurine. However, the big disappointment came when I noticed the figurine having 2 right feet. It’s awful and couldn’t even stand on its own. I don’t think it’s fair to blame the seller so I presumed it’s bad QC by the manufacturer ‘Jazwares’. Anyway, I didn’t make a big fuss and didn’t give up on the toy either. I applied my Gunpla skill by carefully trimming the error foot and had used plastic putty to mold out the left foot. It took me two days to savage this toy. It’s never perfect but I still treasure it. At the end of the day, I still rated the seller positive and full stars rating.

This Charlie figurine by ‘Jazwares’ released in 2005 is a repackaged toy of what was previously released by ‘ReSaurus’. ReSaurus did a better job using better quality plastic and comes with a mini dog-tag for Charlie. As for mine, I managed to get a dog-tag for my Charlie with the help of Desmond 'Thanx a lot bro'. The colour scheme was more accurate to the game. Unfortunately, ‘ReSaurus’ version of Charlie was limited.

Going back to ‘Jazwares’, in my opinion, their quality could not match up to ‘Sota’ and ‘ReSaurus’. Articulation is serious lacking without joint on elbow, wrist and ankle. What I had received, explained all, still this figurine of Charlie is one that’s not so easy to obtain and it took me a while to get it so having it is still comforting.

Not to dwell onto further flaws, I still think the figurine is still pretty all right due to the nice head sculpt and well toned body of Charlie. There’s a slit at the back of the jacket so you could actually removed it for a bare-bodied Charile.

MSIA Gundam RX-79G

This is a re-blogged post of my Mobile Suit In Action 'MSIA' Gundam RX-79G. I have taken pics of the action figure again to give it a fresh look. Based on the RX-78 prototype, the Earth Federation Ground Forces developed this Gundam variant ground-type (from Luna Titanium alloy) for earth combat. Around 20 units were manufactured at Jabaro, of which 12 were sent to the Kojima Battalion in South Asia and 3 assigned to 08th MS squad.

This MSIA Gundam Ground has provided much fun as it's very posable and comes with many accessories like the beam saber, beam rifle, 100mm machine gun, 180mm cannon and the backpack. Too bad the multi-launcher isn't included.

Johnny Ridden HCM High Mobility Zaku II

Often mentioned in Gundam MSV and sidelines storys, this variant High Mobility Zaku II in red & black is often mistaken as Char's Red Comet. In fact this Zaku II is piloted by another ace pilot of Zeon known as Johnny Ridden aka Crimson Lighting 真紅の稲妻 Shinku no Inazuma who fought under the wing of Kycilia Zabi during the OYW.

Here's a vintage Zaku II Johnny Ridden under Hight Complete Model toy-line. The toy comes with accessories like jet pack, rifle, bazooka, heat axe & verniers that requires simply assembly and attachment. The toy looks bulky as expected from an toy. Its arms do have a good range of movable with stable joints on the shoulders. As for the legs, they serious lack mobility hence the toy looks stiff when been posed.

Hasbro Classic Jetfire

We have seen the Henkei Jetfire by Takara and very much the usual sale strategy, Hasbro will have their own version using the same mold. You will be able to see some of the differences when I put the two next to each other. Even though the colour scheme remain very much the same, the artwork differ. Henkei Jetfire has chrome verniers while Classic Jetfire's verniers remained black. Classic Jetfire has a bigger area of cockpit exposed, colors of the missiles are translucent blue and in order to revive the shield, it has the rub on autobots label which is absence in Henkei Jetfire. The last difference I noticed is the colour on their head visor.

I have friends who told in terms of plastic quality, Hasbro version tends to lose out to Takara. I guess this is rather subjective and there's always beauty in either versions. As for some, they are just happy to have more variants to boost the collection. These two are not all and I will showcase more variants of this Jetfire courtesy of Jason.

MG RGM Type-C (Space)

MG RGM Type-C (Space) is now completed and ready rock and roll. As you can see, the colour scheme of this slightly advance Type-C is the same with a conventional first GM. The obvious different should be the head and shoulder. It now has more details on the head sculpt and I think the bar on the shoulder looks really awesome. A Type-C has also more verniers which explained the enhancement to its power output. As for the weapons, the hyper bazooka seems to have missing from this kit. Well, Bandai did throw in a super cool foldable rifle with changeable barrels and ammunition magazine. What's more, the foldable rifle can be hooked at the rear of the MS. In addition, I have used some of the GM water-slide decals which I had bought from Akocreation.

Rio - Movie & Happy Meal Toy

Last Sunday, wifey and I had bought the kiddos for a movie organized by Denz' school to watch 'Rio' the movie. From the creators of 'Ice Age' this is another light-hearten movie manned for all ages that filled with humor and catchy songs. The movie's leading character is 'Blu', an endangered bird that had been domesticated over a decade, takes on an adventure finding himself returning to nature and regaining his natural instinct.

To thrilled my kiddos even more, I had bought a Happy Meal toy of 'Blu' for them. The toy has a cool feature that by pressing a button on its wing and there will be melody been play. The toy also comes with a skateboard. If you are wondering why a skateboard? That's because 'Blu' can't fly so this is one of his means of transport. Lol....

Chogokin Turn-A Gundam

No offense to the designer of Turn-A Gundam, Mr Syd Mead, a renowned visual futurist & concept design. He's also the designer of 'Light Cycles' in the movie 'Tron'. However till this moment, I still couldn't quite accept a Gundam in this form. Due to the fact of the design, Turn-A Gundam anime series may have been the only Gundam series which I have rejected watching till today. Well, at least I still bought this chogokin toy which I think was considered well-made. The size of this toy is approximately the scale of a regular 1/60 with a lot more weigh due to its metal composite. All the weapons Turn-A supposedly have are in. Playable fun factors come from the missiles chamber on the chest and escape core fighter attached to the groin area. What a place for an escape pod. Ha! Ha!
