Realtype Cloth Knight Gundam

Here’s my first hand-on of this ultra rare Realtype Cloth Knight Gundam released in 1990 by Bandai. The naked Gundam don’t seem to relate to any known Gundam but it sure looks like Zeta Gundam MKII. The basic weapon for this naked Gundam is a yellow beam saber and beam canon that transforms from its backpack booster. To add some fun to it, I have supplement this naked Gundam with weapons of Gundam MKII and Zeta Gundam.

The most exciting part this really putting on the armour! Knight Gundam look gorgeous with the armour on even though there might be some restriction to its articulation. The lance can be fixed to the back and the sword can be fixed to the shield. The helmet has its own V-fin however putting on the helmet will not break the V-fin on the naked Gundam cos it’s made of flexible rubber. This is definitely a trophy to my many years of toy collection.

M.K.Z ~ MIKEL'Z

M.K.Z ~ MIKEL'Z

Location and contacts

This is one toy shop that had existed very long at Lucky Chinatown. If you visit Lucky Chinatown, I will find that this shopping mall seems deserted with hardly any shops still operating. I believed the secret to M.K.Z's survival is their competitive prices, online business on Ebay and taking preorder.

Aparts from these, the shop has very patient & approachable staff (I'm talking about Tony). Since the M.K.Z is within walking distance to C.S.C, the shop also tried to draw some crowds by having some items on special discount every Sunday.

Even though the shop isn't very big, they do have lots of Bandai stuff and other toys like Macross, Transformers, Patlabor, Mopeada & etc. Like what the namecard suggested, you can also find lots of S.I.C at M.K.Z.

Valkyrie Profile ~ Lenneth Valkyrie Trading figure

This Valkyrie Profile Lenneth Valkyrie Trading figure is remarkably detailed figure was exclusively packaged on collectible blister cards for sale outside Japan in 2006. It stands approximately 4-5" tall and includes a clear display base. There were three other characters released were Lezard Valeth, Frey and Lucio respectively. Lenneth being the main character is exceptionally rare to find and it does come cheap. I forked up S$60 (including shipping) for this Lenneth trading figure and I got this from Black Knight online store. Highly recommended online toy store that provide prompt reply, assurance and item came professionally packed.

Valkyrie Profile ~ Lucio/Lucian Trading Figure

While searching for Valkyrie Profile SQUARE ENIX Lenneth trading figure, I came across Lucio figure and immediate wanted it to be part of my collection. Even though I didn’t play the game, I find of the armour donned by Lucio neat and shining.

I got mine from a toy website that was on sale. The toy cost US$3/- however due to the high shipping cost of US$17, I ended up paying a lot more. To add on to pain, the parcel was poorly packed and the packaging of the toy came badly bruised. So I took out the figure for display. This is something to learn when making purchases online.

Comparing fast pack of TV & DYRL version

Which colour scheme to you prefer?

Bandai 1/55 scale valkyries have always been my favourite Macross toy line and I can’t help buying 1/55 scale VF-1A Max DYRL super valkyrie especially when it’s the first time Bandai ever made this version.

The box and insert for 1/55 scale VF-1A Max DYRL super valkyrie is similar to 1/55 scale VF-1S super valkyrie box set, released in 2001. Both the boxes are thicker that the vintage box sets.

If you compare the super parts of VF-1S (released in 2001) with VF-1A Max DYRL, you will find the super parts of VF-1A Max DYRL having a dark and more greenish colour scheme. As for the valkyries, VF-1S (released in 2001) is very much white and VF-1A Max DYRL being grayish.

My explanation would be 1/55 scale VF-1S super part box set (released in 2001) followed the appearance of VF-1S on original TV series and VF-1A Max DYRL having a more ani-correct colour scheme with the movie.

It’s more enjoyable playing this brand new 1/55 scale Bandai valkyrie since I can worry less about stressing the plastic when snapping on the super parts. If you asked me, it’s definitely worth spending a price range of S$120 to S$140 for this box set.
