Jason had just email his pics taken on his collection of Revoltech and CMS Cyclone bikes. I have a few of those shown in the pics but are MISB. Nothing feels better having a real touch of the toys. Must admit that Jason really is quite talented in posing his toys. and I better not praise him too much before he gets big-headed.

He is considering selling his CMS Cyclone Stig and Ley + Harmony Gold maroon Invid and I'm pretty interested. We are in the midst of negotiation. Hee! Hee!

Shop till heart's content

Fortunately Jason sent me home today...

Feeling slight feverish and having a bad sore throat, but still eager to visit China Square. How could I miss when both Jason and Mr K are both going as well? There were a long list of toys in my wish list and today I managed to shop to my heart's content.

I was rather upset before going to China Square cos I was told to perform extra duty tomorrow even though it's my off day and hence could not accompany my family to watch a children concert titled the 'The Rainbow Fish'. I understand that work come first however can't help feeling bad to disappoint my family members, especially my wife since she had bought the tickets and taken leave for the occasion. :(

Anyway, crazy shopping for want I wanted most really did help de-stress a little. Let me show you my catch of the day. Please don't ask me how much I spent today. Ha! Ha!

Fire Emblem DVD

My most recent DVD import is this Fire Emblem anime which I got from a U.S seller on EBay. This DVD is a direct VHS to DVD transfer seller had spent effort to design the and the disc is DVD cover sheet and disc label. The DVD is region free and English dubbed.

There is no original licensed DVD for this anime and the one I bought is so far the best you can get. The DVD is only sold within U.S and I was fortunate that seller agreed to send to Singapore after my pleading.

Sadly, the anime was discontinued only after the release of two episodes, which means this DVD contain two episodes. I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem games, so my liking for this anime is really indescribable and it keeps me wondering why only two episodes.

Plot Summary: Once, in a time before the first histories were recorded, there existed a land known as Akanea, founded by the great hero Anri. The three gods of Discord, Madness and War sent Medius, tyrant of the country of Durhua, to join forces with Garnev, the ruler and supreme priest of Khadin. The armies and strongholds of Akanea were no match against their combined might and despite a valiant resistance, the land was soon consumed by the black tides of darkness. However, Medius would soon learn to rue the day he conquered Akanea. For the spirit of Akanea could not be extinguished while the fires of freedom continued to burn in the hearts of the Akanean people. Not while a hero still breathed in whose veins the blood of Anri yet flowed. With the enchanted sword Falcion in his hands, Prince Mars would rally the people and begin a crusade to liberate Akanea....

First visit to Bukit Panjang Dental

Just gone through scaling and polishing at Bt Panjang Dental Surgery yesterday. There was much disappointment at first cos the clinic seems pretty rundown and they only accept cash payment. Which means I had to walk to a nearest ATM machine to withdraw money? That took me at least 20 minutes to and flow?

The scariest moment was when I returned to see patient before me moaning in pain when he exit the dentist room. He was prescribed with medication buy didn’t seem to have gone through any tooth extraction.

Well! The impression I have for the dentist was fairly good as he had greeted me as I entered the room. But when he asked me for my purpose there, I couldn’t quite answer. Actually, my last visit to a dentist was more than a year ago and I didn’t look for another dentist after my usual dentist stopped providing general dental services and had gone specialized on braces. Basically, the push factor for me to visit the dentist was the obvious tarnishes and stains on my top and bottom front teeth.

Anyway, the usual question any dentist would ask me is if I’m a smoker cos I have a yellowish set of teeth since young. When my reply was that I’m a non-smoker, dentist would suspect that I probably took too much antibiotic or medicine when I was a kid. I kind of believed this theory cos my body was very weak in the past and my mother often brought me to see doctors. I’m also constantly having high dosage of medication.

This time round, on top of what was mentioned above, the dentist actually told me to give up trying to whiten my teeth using DIY methods unless I go for some laser treatment. That isn’t very encouraging but at least he was frank.

The dentist is really a friendly person and he talked to me a lot during scaling & polishing, but I could not reply with my mouth opened wide. I must say the dentist is very skillful and the process didn’t cause any pain. Not like those I experienced in the past that built up a lot of fear factors in me.

After the scaling and polishing, I felt happier with more confidence when I smile. About the fellow before me? I checked with the dentist and he disclosed to me that the fellow is a heavy smoker and his gum was infected due to poor dental hygiene.

I’m generally satisfied with the service and it was much attributed by the dentist’s skill. I will return to the dental clinic again if you ask me. One thing I forgotten was to ask for the dentist’s name. Muddleheaded!

The scaling and polishing only cost S$40/-. With my S$35/- of dental claim, I only need to pay five bucks.

Tips: Rinse after every meal & floss at least once a day (preferably before going to sleep)

Just saw this awesome limited Yamato 1/48 VF1A Max TV version on Ebay auction going @ a starting price of USD $450/-. Super X man! I wonder what would be the price when it's available in Singapore. Sometimes, I just feel that some unscrupulous dealers are just jacking up prices to make collectors' life miserable. Well! some may say you can choose not to buy. Hee! Hee!

Another alternative is to buy a customised one from Macross Geo Cities if you don't have the skill in customisation.

Here's my recent buy on Ebay. I didn't read the item description clearly and thought that I'm was bidding for an Orguss anime boxset. Still thought it was a good buy when I won the auction.

When I received the parcel with only one DVD disc inside the box, I then realised that this is the first volume release of Ogruss anime DVD which come with the casing. I would have to exercise patience and spend more money to complete the boxset then. Sob...

Before my wife starts posting on our children's blog about our trip to Batam, let me just start off with you my fastfood experience at Batam's downtown shopping Mall. Basically on our second day at Batam, we took a shuttle bus to Nagoya shopping Mall and the first thing in my mind then was to hunt for A&W restaurant after I saw the signboard outside the shopping mall.

Leaving the others behind, my nephew (Benedict) and I headed straight to A&W restaurant and indulged ourselves with 'Mozza burger' set meal. My nephew probably think A&W is just another fastfood restaurant. But A&W meant much more to me and I simply love the rootbeer float and curly fries.

I have fond mermories at A&W restaurant during the time when there were still A&W restaurants in Singapore. My best friend and I used to patronise the outlet at Bukit Merah and had shared good times having A&W's ice-cream waffle, curly fries, chicken wings, root beer float and double chesse burger. It's heaven! What's more! Tuesday used to be 'Connie Day'. Which means half price for 'Connie Dog' (A&W hotdog).

When I was searching for the logo of A&W on the internet, I found a site that asked for petition to bring back A&W to Singapore. Didn't know that are people as passion as I am about A&W. Ha! Ha!

Hi guyz, I'm back from my Batam trip to give you an insight on more of my toys. Introducing my Toynami Blue Alpha Fighter (Legioss in Mospeada). This is the very first volume of Toynami Alpha Fighters toyline. Toynami had really done an excellent job of producing an entirely new mold for Alpha fighters.

What a smart move by Toynami knowing that there is a gigantic pool of Robotech fans in U.S alone, not to mention worldwide. The success of Alpha fighters toyline has lead to the release of Beta Fighter in the near future. Preorder of Beta Fighter was already out on Robotech official website. As for me, I won't be buying till there are good deals.

Toynami Alpha Fighter is very detail and posable and these factors won over Gakken ones. Other plus factors include its tight joint and missiles compartment with covers that can be opened. However the main chassis (body) of the toy seems rather flimsy during transformation. My overall opinion, it's a toy worth collecting.

Mobile Suits Gundam Ultimate Operation 5

Here's another highly detailed gasaphon of Fusion Work's 'Mobile Suits Gundam Ultimate Operation' . The series 5 also had featured Gundam RX-78 and this time round, Gundam gets to hold the metal chain and spiky bolt. Such gasaphon would look very outstanding if you do a landscape style of display.

Anyway, I will be bring my family to the wonderful island of Batam and won't be blogging for the next three days. I shall return to blogging after I have enjoyed the sun, sand and sea. Ha! Ha!

Record of Lodoss War (Chronicles of the heroic knight)

Five years has past after the heroic Parn and his fellow companions restored peace to Lodoss, the cursed island was once again tormented by evil. So in the second part of Record of Lodoss War (Chronicle of the heroic knight), new and old heroes raised to put a final end by lifting the cursed.

In order to satisfy the fans, the second part of Record of Lodoss War gives you double the excitement with 27 episodes rather only 13 episodes in part one. Even though the second two didn't focus so much on Parn and Deedlit (Hero & Heroine) from part one, it is still outstanding.

In the late eighties and early ninties, people were much fascinated with dragons, knights, elves, dwarfs and etc... That was the era when animes and games based on knight fantasy started to emerge. Some of which we are familiar with may include Dungeons and Dragons, Fire Emblem, Warsong, Langrisser, Legend of Zelda and Record of Lodoss War.

Before even Lord of the Ring existed, we were already exposed to knight fantasy through Record of Lodoss War. Record of Lodoss War featured many classes of warriors including knight, thief, elve, dwarf, magician, berserker, healer and summoner.

I have watched this anime times and times again but never got sick of it. Keeping the original DVD boxset as a collection definitely is worth it. The DVD boxset is in Japanese dialogue and English dubbed with English subtitles. It is released by U.S Manga.
