1/1000 Scale Space Battleship Yamato 2202 Model Kit (Built and Painted)

Size of length approximately 33 cm

Special display base with foil stickers to be pasted optionally

"Orange clear part" the emission of the engine can also be reproduced

2 LED units for lighting effect gimmick

4th bridge, great cabin, first and second bridge use the clear parts

Wave Motion Cannon lighting effect gimmick

Here we go again and Yamato, again at the time of departure! New version of the Space Battleship Yamato that recreates the appearance of the Yamato in the new 2022 series! A bit of history here, Yamato 2202 movie is the revival animation of the big hit TV animation in 1970, and sequel story of Yamato 2199's OVA.

The Space Battleship Yamato as it appears in Space Battleship Yamato 2202 (Star Blazers 2202) is here as a 1/1000 plastic model kit, excellent as always from Bandai! Precise amazing detail as set up (those tiny turrets are my favourite), the completed size of length approximately 33 cm. Wave Motion Cannon and bridge features an 2 LED units for lighting effect gimmick just like in the movie.

A new part reproduces the 4th bridge, great cabin, first and second bridge use the clear parts, gorgeous elegant remodelling and retooling of the vintage Space Battleship Yamato. The set is compatible with Action Base 1(sold separately) nevertheless it looks just as good on the special display base with foil stickers to be pasted optionally.

Additional space for optional "Lighting Unit (White) 2 light type" with "Orange clear part" the emission of the engine can also be reproduced which I didn't procure. The main wings can be recreated by replacing the parts. I bought mine built and painted and I really like the weathering along those panel lines.

Very impressive rendition of the classic Battleship Yamato and lots or external details as you could expect from Bandai, it’s a blast from the past, man !!!... I think what’s most epic about this spaceship is the fact that it was heavily based on an actual japanese battleship that participated in the World War II, I just love precisely that mix of something real and strategic touches of retrofuturistic design everywhere, that’s what creates a more direct connection !!!... Uhmmm, it reminds me as well the USS Sulaco, yummy !!!... =OOOOO

The post WWII Japan managed to channel their focus on the good and look towards the future with hope and recovery. It’s positive energy and spaceship taking on the design of great battleship is very enticing. The era of bigger and better concept. It’s sad to see gigantic battleships been replaced by aircraft carriers and modern small destroyers.

The 1/1000 looks really neat! i guess the LED installation is quite easy on this one. though i specifically reserved 1/500 rendition of Yamato Battleship.

Zan'nendesu - What a shame.. it’s not build and painted by me. I bought a preloved and I loved it.
