A comparison with X-Wing Fighter
The style of packaging is pretty cool as it has backdrop which enhances the realism during photography
Y-Wing starfighters are powerful vessels in the Rebel Alliance fleet, with ample firepower that includes laser cannons and proton torpedoes. The Rebel forces make do with whatever vehicles they can obtain, and the sturdy Y-Wing is a good fighter for them because it can withstand heavy attack and still remain space-worthy.
During the Battle of Yavin, Y-wing fighters fend off Imperial fighters to clear a path for the Rebels to reach the Death Star's vulnerable exhaust port. Rebel pilot Lieutenant Lepira flies Gold Four, the point Y-Wing for Gold Squadron at the Battle of Yavin, but is shot down during that pivotal battle. He is one of the pilots who received the few seconds of fame as seen seated in the row in front of Luke and Wedge during the briefing.
It's Y after X and here we have Star Wars 30th Anniversary Y-Wing Fighter Toys R' Us Edition from Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. This is the third version of the Y-wing, after the vintage Return Of The Jedi (ROTJ), and the POTJ. The mold is great and is largely based on the original Return Of The Jedi mold and maybe the best Y-Wing released so far with longer cannons, exclusive Y-Wing 3.75" pilot (Lieutenant Lepira), the same size scale as most of the other Hasbro Star Wars figures.
It is a good size for either displaying or for kids (big or small) to play with for that matter. Silmilarly to 30th anniversary pilot Biggs Darklighter action figure, the helmet fits over the head pretty well just that it looks a bit too clean. Nevertheless the helmet can be removed and e held by the arms of the figure.
I got mine as preowned, it does come with box however without the exclusive R5-F7 Droid which supposed to come with the set. Good thing there is another R5-F7 Droid mounted to the starfighter (good thing this unit is not removable). The style of packaging is pretty cool as it has backdrop which enhances the realism during photography. This Star Wars Gold Squadron Y-Wing Fighter features a swiveling gun, a canopy that opens and closes, fold-up landing gear and a Y-Wing pilot figure (Lieutenant Lepira). Very detailed Y-Wing Fighter vehicle with heavy weathering paint.
As seen in the Star Wars film A New Hope, this vehicle features fold-up landing gear and a canopy that opens and closes! Press the button to drop a bomb and stage your own battle scenes with the R5-D7 droid figure and Y-wing pilot figure that fits comfortably inside the cockpit!

Very attractive replica of an iconic space fighter and I can see it received a weathering treatment than improves the general appearance... It looks like the accompanying figure has no articulation but the level of detail, sculpt and paint job compensates it very well !!!... =D

I really like the weathering that comes original and having the pilot sure add play value to the set. Big toy to play but comes with storage problem too heehee...
The weathering is awesome!!
Yeah bro! Looks a lot more realistic this way!
