Unicorn Gundam Head Bust

Here's another post related to Unicorn Gundam to get you in the mood of the coming episode 6 screening. Featuring a non-scale head bust of Unicorn Gundam which is slightly smaller than human head. So you can visualize how big the box is. I have taken a pic with 1/100 Gunpla beside it for better size reference. Made by Banpresto, this Unicorn Gundam head bust has no electronic function, but by reassembling a few parts, the head can change from Destroy Mode to Unicorn Mode and vice versa. Good gimmick there! The head bust is preprinted and ready for display straight out from the box.

Immortalis iPhone Game

Immortalis is the game that I'm currently playing! I was introduced to this card game by my wifee and had then fought along side with her valiantly. I must confessed that the game is very addictive and it had taken a tone on my body by having to wake up 1am, 4am and 7am Singapore time to enter every guild battles.  The game is only available to iPhone user and the fun part is that the immortal cards can evolve, level-up and ultimately be used in guild battles.

Each guild can hold up to maximum of 20 members and reaching the top requires active participation and sound tactics, therefore teamwork is important to keep the synergy going. I would say my guild had reached a mature stage through ups and downs and at the lowest point whereby argument among other members had became so disheartening. Still, the game has its beauty of drawing me back to the game!

Soft Vinyl Super Size Unicorn Gundam

Gundam Unicorn Episode 6 screening in Singapore is drawing even nearer as I speaks and I'm please to announce to those lucky ones who are invited for the fiesta that screening is just 2nd March 2013, venue: Shaw theatre Lido @ 10.30am. Man! I am so excited that I had re-watched episode 1 to 5 again to refresh my memories as the wait had been dreading.

In line with the screening, here a non-scale Soft Vinyl Super Size Unicorn Gundam by Banpresto standing as tall as 35cm, for those who likes big toys as collectibles. I have placed a 1/100 scale Astray Gundam to show you the size comparison. The Gundam is basically in Unicorn mode and could not change to destroy mode. Point of articulation is only the head going side ways. Shoulder rotation up and downwards @ 360 degree.

It's a plain and simple toy clearly defined in 5 colours, without panel lines. If you absolutely must have it to perfection, be prepared to do some touch-up work on your own. The toy was made to display in standby hangar pose and come with no accessory. Priced below 2000 yen as it's supposed to be budget toy I guess.

Toys & Manga @ West Coast Plaza Field Report

AZ Comics are focus on solely manga from sales to renting one and read them at a cosy area outside their shop.

Took my family to West Coast Plaza on the 3rd day of Lunar New Year period because there is an indoor kids' playground, where we could deposit our kiddos for an hour and find a tranquil cafe, where my in-laws could enjoy their nice cup of tea. Formerly known as Ginza Plaza, West Coast Plaza to my surprise has quite a few shops for Otakus. I guess there is a substantial cluster of of Japanese residing there and a Japanese school nearby.

At West Coast Plaza, it was really a bonus I bought a box of cute little GM figurines for the novelty @ this shop call 'Sakuraya'. This shop also has some cool toys ranging from Macross Frontier kits, Evangelion, Battleship Yamato, One Piece, K-On and etc.... There are two other shops selling manga. Comic Realms do sells trading figures and the ones that caught my attention were FW Gundam Standart and Gundam Converge! As for AZ Comics, they are focus on solely manga from sales to renting one and read them at a cosy area outside their shop.

ANA Mega Size Gundam RX-78-2

My second time working on Mega Size Gunpla whereby my first experience was working on Gundam RX-78-2, belonging to Leon (Open The Toy). Previously, I only assisted Leon to add some panel lines and top-coating. This time around, I am again honoured to handle another Mega Size Gundam RX-78-2 and rejoiced that this is not just an ordinary Gunpla but an exclusive kit for ANA (All Nippon Airways) with the blue and baby blue colors.

In the past, I heard that this Gunpla was only offered to passengers flying with ANA and whoever order must have a residing address in Japan. This made the Gunpla really hard-to-attain and whoever dear for it, would have to pay a premium price. Anyway, this isn't mine but Stanley's, who had straight built the said Gunpla and I'm just helping to do some touch-up. I must admit that this is the first time, I had handled such big water-slide decals. Trust me! they are really HUGE.

I had used pencil to draw panel lines on the white area and marker on the coloured parts. During the process, I had also trimmed and filed off some of the protruded parts, before my usual way of spraying a layer of matt topcoat. Something extra I did was painting the elbow with some gold, taking the idea of RG and some silver paint on the thrusters on the backpack to add contrast. The beam rifle was sprayed with flat black before dry-brushing with silver paint (Mr Colour No.8 in this instance). I'm very grateful to master kenny for imparting the dry brushing technique. Never know simple technique such as this can produce amazing metallic look to the appearance of the rifle.
