Record of Lodoss War – Parn Figure

I have this figurine a long time ago but had never seriously blog about it. Record of Lodoss War is such an epic anime series of knight-fantasy and it’s rather unfortunate that there are hardly any figurines on the characters from this classic anime from almost two decades ago. One of those few ever released was this 6″ action figure of the main hero ‘Parn’. The figure was manufactured by ‘Tomy’ that hardly gets export out of Japan. I should consider this figurine more as a statue cos it’s in a fixed pose and there isn’t any point of articulation. The sword is the only accessory (Not even a shield) and it's not able to holster into the scabbard. Still, I'm very grateful that I at least have this rare figure.

I guess my toys are mostly nostalgic and yes, Lodoss War is one of those few animes that I get to watch on TV when I was young. Your uncle is probably my age. Ha! Ha! I like Mospeada too however, I had sold off a lot of Mospeada stuff last month. Mainly, Toynami action figure of Alpha fighters in battroid mode, a set of CMS Alpha fighters (Red, Blue & Green) & a Alpha+Beta CMS giftset.

though i didn't watch the anime,I do read the manga of this series which cover Spark's and Deedlit story.

Really great series with classic RPG feeling within.

EMI has blocked the right to view ur video in my country, really nice !!!... this figure is pretty delicate & very well manufactured, i thought it was smaller but with 6" it would have been great to see it as an action figure... again something different, pretty refreshing !!! =D

The first episode of this anime started off very RPG and it slowly progressed to an epic battle. The story of Spark is the second OVA which is great too!

6" is an ideal size for detail and easy handling. It's the reason I prefer it over trading figures. Tomy is a has good reputation in toy making hence I trust the quality of the figure. It's an old figure which still stand nice & attractive.

Yes, the anime was screened on Channel 8 more than a decade ago during late nights. Those were the time when we hardly have proper figurines like Revoltech or Figma on anime characters.

Ha! Ha! I'm older than your uncle and that sound rather old. I'm 33 & those were the time classic oldies mecha like Mospeada, Patlabor, Macross & Gundam spread beyond the land of the Sun.

Glad to know that you know about this anime too and even have the dvd. I have watched the anime a few times but never get sick of it. I'm not sure they have Deedlit figure but I have seen the resin version.

It was a coincidence find when I search Ebay for Lodoss merchandises. They are mostly dvd, manga & games of non PS platform. I am surprise to find this too. It's one figure that's very hard to come by.

I seems you are one who are more of Western Super Heroes and Sci-fic kind of guy. It's nice to introduce new stuff to you as it the benefit of blogging. I too learn about different or new things from your blog. Cheers!

That's one question that I couldn't answer. However the material on both the armors on the shoulders are different.
