Street Fighter: Miso Dan Sota Figure

Today is Katsuden's birthday and I shall end this year with this last posting for 2009. Humorously funny Dan from Street Fighters is definitely my favourite character from the game. How can you deny the the metrosexually cool pink gi! Dan's appearance on Street Fighter Zero anime is at bear minimum and was easily defeated by Vega. Still this crying baby is super cute to me!

Recently, I'm hooked to instant Miso soup which I have bought from the nearby supermarket. This instant Miso soup will put most Japanese foodstalls you find in foodcourt to shame! Recommended! I have even bought a Japanese bowl for my miso soup. I was trying to make the presentation comic like and so Dan makes the perfect spokesperson!

ps: Katsuden wishing you a Happy New Year and may you have a good new year ahead!

Macross Chronicle 35

This issue main focus is VF-25G Messiah Michael Custom. Indeed one impressive valkyrie and I'm glad I bought the chogokin toy as well as the Tamashii exclusive parts. Beside VF-25G, issue 35 also come with two very nice drawings on Macross and of which I like the fist fight between YF19 and YF21 the most. I'm not so much into statue but Sheryl Nome's statue is definitely sexy and appealing with or without her uniform. Cheez!

Dennis' Top Ten Toys (TTT) 2009

Realtype Knight Gundam - A definite Number 1 of 2009. It's like a dream come true to final having the toy which I long for since I started collecting toys!

Runner-up is this super rare 1/40 Orguss II Olson Orgroid Special with the assistance of Tokyohunter. Have also been looking for this many years and so very glad that it comes in mint condition.

Second-runner up is Evil G1 Jetfire - A long and big customised project for me this year and thankfully the effort paid off. Now I have my very own Evil Jetfire!

4th position: I just got has huge toy a few days back from Falcon's Hangar. High anticipated Macross toy which managed to squezze within Katsuden’s TTT 2009 before the end of the year. A must have for Macross fans this year.

5th position: Bandai 1/55 scale valkyries have always been my favourite Macross toy line and I can’t help buying 1/55 scale VF-1A Max DYRL Super Valkyrie especially when it’s the first time Bandai ever made this version. It toy has gave me the ideal of customising it to 1/55 scale VF-1S Max Strike Valkyrie.

6th position: I have yet to done a review of this Armoured Valkyrie but this vintage Macross toyline by Takatoku is one I wanted badly when I was a kid. I remember saving up my school allowance for the Hikaru version but it was no longer on the shelve when returned to the shop. I'm still searching for Hikaru version Armoured Valkyrie gift set. Nevertheless Max version has been a great consolation.

7th position: Bought this Yamato 1/24 Patlabor Ingram during a shopping spree. Item is still MISB. Yet to do a review by many say this is one of the most comprehensive Patlabor toy made so far. It's also the biggest Patlabor toy till date.

Position 8th: Chogokin Evangelion 00' is one of the most value for money buy this day. It kind of rekindled my interest for Neo Genesis Evangelion.

Position 9: MSIA Dendrobium - I love big toys and this one is really huge! I bought it secondhand on Ebay and was disappointed with the original state. It was stained with dust and had turned yellow. The terrible state spurred me in giving the toy a complete overhaul. Hence, I disassembled and resprayed it. Feels great after savaging it.

I always wanted my personal capsule machine and surprise surprise! Look what I found while shopping for my kids' Christmas presents. Fascinating else it! It even works when I put a Singapore 50 cents coin. Now it's fun fun fun for my kids and I.

Seasons Greeting! It's year end again and by invitation of Shaun (Fortress of Testicular Fortitude), I'm hereby doing a Top Ten Toys which I had owned for year 2009. Due to time constraint, I have not review most of my top ten toys this year and could only come up with a post to sum up all 10 entries. I hope this post will provide you with a peep of toys I will blog about the coming year. The journey to toy collecting never dies!

Christmas Toy Night Shoot 2009

We did daytime photography shoot the last time and now let's try night shoot. Here we were along Orchard Road on Sunday evening filled with crowd. The Christmas lighting there would sure filled you with the atmosphere of season greeting.

It was this Sunday that I came to realise that the Achilles heel of my point-and-shoot camera really is during the night. It's especially difficult to take decent pics and the result was much inferior compared to those taken by DSLR. Could it be the limitation of my digital camera or am I unfamiliar with night shoot.

We had a bigger group this time and maybe because of the crowd, we took a longer time to warm up. Nevertheless, the enthusiasm kicked in when we were outside ION Orchard. We literally camp there, ignoring the eyes of bystanders, only engrossed in posing toys and phototaking. Cheers!
