Gundam Encyclopedia Book

An old Gundam Encyclopedia consisting of 143 pages, found on my shelf with coloured pictures and sketches of up to 201 Mobile Suits during the Universal Timeline. MS ranging from those in conceptualization to manga, anime and even MSVariant. I can't find the publishing date but it was most probably published before 1991 because MS from Gundam 0083 and Gundam 08th MS Team were included. Like most Gundam illustration book, this was also printed in Japanese language. As you can see from the pics, the MS featured were drawn in an old-skool manner with a feel of nostalgia. 

Gundam Sangokuden Catalogue

A quick post with update of the current Sangokuden kits you can find at your leading department stores. This catalogue is usually available @ Gundam roadshow. It has the artworks of the characters from Sangokuden and the actual kit, their weapons used and special tactic. Now, I'm hoping Bandai would released more RGM characters mainly from Wu's force. Anyway, my latest import were GM soldiers (Shin Butaihei) & Xu Huang (Shin Jyokou Serpent). My next Sangokuden kits would most likely be Zhou Yu (Shin Shuyu Hyakushiki)

Gundam Blue Destiny Manga

I had this manga many years back but somehow I threw it away during one of those spring cleanings for some reason. I kind of missed having the manga and had recently bought another copy at a online bookstore 'Alibris'. The one I had now is a preloved manga with shelfwear but I'm glad to possess it once again after tedious search and an unfortunate event of lost in mail.

Mobile Suit Blue Destiny by Yoshiyuki Tomino is a side story during the OYW and it was first introduced as a video game for Sega Saturn console. The manga only touched on the beginning so it ended leaving readers wanting for more, unfortunately there wasn't any other issue thereafter. The story introduced a young Lt Yu Kajima, who exhibits exceptional skills by defecting stronger MS with his GM but always having his unit rather badly thrashed at the same time. Remarkably, for a non-new-type, Yu Kajima has strong survival instinct. The manga is also packed with actions, GMs, and the awesomely looking Blue Destiny Unit 1.

Dengeki Hobby May 2011 - GM Type-C Wagtail

I will usually buy either Hobby Japan or Dengeki magazine if there are particular issue that feature the mecha I like or if it comes with irresistible souvenir like this conversion parts to transform my HG RGM Type-C to Wagtail version. I had picked up this magazine the other day @ Kinokuniya bookstore since my workplace is conveniently located one building beside. The conversion parts comes in a brown cardboard box which you can see in the second pic. The kit itself is all white so it would really be a challenge for me to add the colours for a Gunpla builder of my level or though the magazine had pic illustration on how to do it. I have currently a mountain high of backlog Gunpla to build so this will be in the waiting list. Meanwhile, please enjoy the pics taken from the magazine of those done by experts.

Unicorn Gundam Episode 2 ‘The second coming of Char’ Screening Event in Singapore

Disclaimer: For those who hate spoilers should avoid reading further! Anyway, these are only some of my opinions and thoughts after having watched the second episode of Unicorn Gundam. In this episode, the story continues with big-foot class MA like Kshatriya suffering a retreat after the confrontation with Unicorn Gundam. Then the pace started slowing down a little for more characters introduction and development, like Marida Cruz (pilot of Kshatriya), Angelo Sauper with his custom sniper type Geara Zulu and Riddhe Marcenas (pilot of the surviving Rezel team). Two of the characters who give audience the surprise would be unfolding of Audrey Burne true identity as the last surviving member of Zabi family - Mineva Lao Zabi and the leader of the Neo Zeon remnant forces known as Sleeves. This masked man is said to be the reincarnation of Char Aznable and he pilots the Sazabi look alike Sinanju.

Thereafter, adrenaline rush returned with fighting scenes continuing during the second half which I enjoyed most seeing the Rezel team taking on Sinanju. Rezel unit had proof their worth by putting up a better fight than what I saw in the first episode (killed @ 1st sight) but still they were no match to Sinanju who took them on single-handedly. The real challenge only starts when wonder boy Banagher and his Unicorn Gundam came to the rescue. This is the moment, you get to witness the intensity of Unicorn Gundam’s beam rifle (killing a Geara Zulu from a far distance in strayshot) and its I-field when shielding sniping beam rounds).

One scene that resemble a lot to the ‘First Gundam’ anime would be Sinanju giving Unicorn Gundam a kick. Suddenly, flashback of Char’s Zaku II kicking Amuro Ray’s Gundam RX-78-2 ran through my mind when I saw that. Before the end of the episode there was a glimpse of London Bell’s latest MS ‘Delta Plus’ which I believed Riddhe Marcenas would take Mineva Lao Zabi and escape in this MS (Just a wild guess). Oh, I almost forgotten, I saw GM III too!
