Jumborg Ace Hyper Model 50cm Figure

Jumborg Ace is aired in 1973 and yes, this is a legit Tsuburaya production. It's just another non-Ultraman series riding on the fame of Ultraman. Up to you to call it a rip-off but IMHO I like this goofy looking Ultra! It's unbelievable but true to for me to like something so retro (I'm not even born in 1973). Let's call it my likings to all Ultra heroes!

Talk about the rarity of Jumborg Ace figure, the original 6" is almost impossible to find or the pricing is way too steep. There are couple of bootlegs which I really wouldn't mind. I just know I need to have this when I first saw it at Fook Hai flea-market. Definitely not the right size as it's way too big to fit in my collection.

I got this 50cm figure anyway just to have my very first Jumborg Ace figure. This is clearly a product of Thailand as suggested by the Thai wordings printed on the box. The massive box even has the copyright Tsuburaya Chaiyo 2001 printed but did not have the company's name. Maybe it's in Thai and I can't figured it out, then again the quality of the hard plastic material suggested that it's probably  by'Apex'.

Well, I'm beginning to appreciate this blown up mega size figure by the days. Praises for the antennas made in soft material and the honest details right down to the zippers on the rear and the boots.

Bro, even I was born in 1973, I don't know this Ultraman as well. Anyway, I am glad that you got the figure you wanted.

It looks like you love quirky stuff pal, in that sense we are quite akin!... Ultraman has been quite influential as far as I know and I can see you’re an avid fan of this series... In fact the figure is impressive in the execution, details and finishes, probably the size played an important role in that matter... The design of the character, on the other hand, yeah, is goofy, even tacky but I guess it’s part of its charm, besides, not many manufacturers of collectibles take the risk of producing figures based on not original series...

Cool to know that we might have something in common ^_^ ... I won’t deny that the design is goofy. Well like the saying goes... “It’s so ugly that I like it.” Lolz
