An illustration of a renowned conquerer better known as the 'Tiger of Jiang Dong', in manga/anime 'Souten Kouro'. Sun Jian made his debut in late Han during the allied campaign against the tyranny of Dong Zhuo at the battle of Loyang. Even only featured briefly in the anime, Sun Jian's qualities as a great leader were significantly better off than Liu Bei in Souten Kouro.
This figure is among the few trading figures from the first wave of Souten Kouro 'NEXT LABEL' figure series released by Union Creative in late August 2010. Figure stand approximately 11cm and come with a well designed hexagon black stand. The figure is well balance and stand on its own even without the stand.
My disappointment in this Sun Jian's figure is that the face sculpt is quite far off from the anime and the figure had failed to project the charm and nobleness of the mighty warlord who established the foothold of 'Wu' kingdom was also the father of the famous Sun Ce and Sun Quan. It is said that the Sun ancestors had carried foreign bloodline as such their descendants have reddish hair like you say on the figure. Anyway, the best from Souten Kouro 'NEXT LABEL' figure series, has yet to come...

even with the issue in the face sculpt, the figure overall is very colorful and the work on the textures and folds is quite remarkable, adding dynamism... by the way, the face expression looks odd, basically because people like me, with zero knowledge about this character, would say that this guy is just a maniac (he looks evil), when based on your description, he was a wise and sober-minded warrior... =/
Actually Next Label had some cool and better figure that I will post soon. Better ones up my sleeve ^_^. I guess the killer is fault on head sculpt which usually happened to many other unfortunate figures.
Is he holding something?
Nope... If I remember correctly, he should in this pose standing on horse and commanding his troops.
I agree that the colors are great AND the face is bad. It seems he has a deranged look about him.
Yeah! The head sculpt is the soul of the figure and slight difference makes it obvious ...
