It's time for the great Macross Chronicle reference magazine again! Grand entry to this issue is Captain Max with his mighty Macross 7 carrrier. The matured Max is definitely more charming and compose. This issue has got some valkyries that you don't see often. More wonderful drawings and on the last pics, advertisement of Macross Frontier jigsaw puzzle. I am a toy collector and would skip this merchandise.

again my sincere congrats for the designer(s) of this wonderful magazine... as many (if not all) the commenters here, i hav no idea what the articles means (japanese is a sort of extraterrestrial language for me, but i can "read" the illustrations very well... that macross battleship is simply astonishing, very angular & with a great colour scheme in both robot & battleship modes =OOOOOO
Wait a min. I remember the captain Max die in the macross when he was young as he was flying a blue tone plane with Rick hunter? Or is that someone else. Hm..

I like Macross 7 carrier a lot. In fact, I'm hopefully Bandai would make a toy out of it.

Max didn't die but you are right about him piloting the blue valkyrie. It was Kakizaki aka Ben Dickson (Robotech) who fail to escape the energy field.
Ah so Ben Dickson is known as Kakizaki in the original Japanese. When I was watching Robotech as a kid, I remember how shocked I was when Ben didn't make it and was killed.. very dramatic.
But I have to stand up for Robotech, I think the soundtrack was way better than the japanese counterpart.
It's quite a pity that Ben died like this. I would rather he got KIA by strong enemy from the Zentrandi. His KO was even more meaningless in the movie.
I actually watched both Macross & Robotech 1st saga and enjoyed both with different feelings. If not for Carl Macek, the ideology of Macross mecha and valkyrie won't reach as far the western world.
