Decided to do retake the pics on this baby cos those pics taken previously were pretty lousy. Till now, I have yet to buy Yamato's 1/60 scale Destroid Defender cos I'm contented with the vintage version by Matchbox. The toy stands about 7" and it is solely made by Matchbox without using mold from other companies, when Harmony Gold obtained the license to distribute Macross as Robotech 1st saga in U.S .
Just like what you see in the pics, the articulation of the toy is extremely limited but the good thing about is that Matchbox had built the toy to last. I only have the toy in its loose state with stickers already applied so it looks good on display.

Omg you actually have this!! Cool!!
Looks like they are set to defend against the zentradi at a moment's notice :D Do you have plans to repaint this? I think it will look even better with a nice matt green/grey ^^
this is great !!! i like so much... looks sturdy (it’s matchbox u know) simple but really nice... what a pity that the stickers weren’t imprinted very well (i’m just wondering if this pieces would come with water o dry decals instead of glossy stickers...) so this is the kind of toys u like the most =DDD
Classic. I don't know why but I was reminded much of Mechwarrior when I saw this. The white missile on the ground in the first pic is not with this figure right?

I like these SDF-1 destroids a lot and will slow roll them out. I don't have the intention to repaint it yet. The one produced by Yamato will be more anime correct. Will get it if the price is right.

I must agreed that Matchbox has a reputation of making tough toys though they may not look so detail. I guess it's pretty good for an 80's toy. Macross toyz rockz!

Somehow the concept of destroids has spread to Mechwarrior and even Exosquad. It's a platform to ground robots design. Ha! Ha!
Wow! the toy came from 1985. You still maintain it in a pretty good condition. Salute to you, bro :)
Good thing the plastic quality is good and the dark colour tone can mask up any yellowing if any.
What a beaut, and 1985 o_0, all my old toys are already broke after 2004, that thing is tough.
You must have some tough time during 2004. Indeed this toy is tough and there are still ample if you search through Ebay.
Wow I used to have this toy when I was a kid, but over the years I got bored with it and threw it away.
