I have spent one morning customising the stand base for 1/60 Chogokin VF-25 valkyries. The display stand came entirely black and I wanted the S.M.S (Strategic Military Services) logo in its original colour but didn’t want to use paint, as the value of the toy would depreciate. All thanks to Mr K for sourcing the big yellow sticker sheet, this little project of mine was made possible. How I do it? First I put a transparency over the base and used marker to outline the different shapes. Next, I placed the transparency over the sticker sheet and cut out the shapes with penknife.

Cool little trick for colouring up the stand, surprised it arrived all black.

"Indestructible SMS, Speed!, Miracle!, Spacy!"
just one word...
awesome ^^
dennis may I ask why you choose to use Stickers rather than hand paint?
Uh...never thought of doing this. Thanks for the idea.

Yes. the entire black looks too plain. I like the way you describe SMS bro! Makes good motto! Ha! Ha!

Thank you. Thank you. It's a small project, really. Hee! Hee!

Painting it is more of a irreversible process. Unlike modeling, to some toy collectors, painting the toy would mean trying to hide faults and the value of toy may depreciate. That makes me choose applying stickers instead. Another reason is that my paint job sucks to the max. Ha! Ha!

I thought of the idea a long time back but I'm definitely not the first to do it cause I have seen someone done it and posting the pics on SG Collect forum.
