He holds a red sword, likely representing the “Blood Sword” 🗡️ passed down as a heirloom… I especially like 何家勁 Kenny Ho’s TV 📺 version which the sculpt of this figure is based on… The movie 🎥 version was acted by 郑伊健 Ekin Cheng….

風雲 Feng Yun: 無名 Nameless Figure

When I started blogging I had made many hush hush posts that clamp many things together. I hoping to reorganized and repackaged and toys with more content and better picture quality. So here's another character from 'Stormer Riders' aka 風雲 which I like a lot. This character is known as Nameless (無名), a highly skilled swordsman who's like a mentor to Wind and Cloud. Nameless is renown for his heart of justice in the world of pugilists and he wields the famous Hero Sword.

I was very lucky I find this 無名 figurine selling at 'Comic Connection' CCK branch some time ago and getting it wasn't easy. I had to actually pay the shop three visits before finally owning it. During my first visit, the staff could not find the box and did not know the price. So I left down my name and contact number.

I got impatient a few days later and returned to the shop again. The nice female staff by the name of 'Zoe' didn't not forget me and had assured me that she would enquire for me as her supervisor was on leave during the period.

As promised, Zoe did contact me with the price of this 4.5-inch-figurine. Unfortunately, the box still could not be found and I was given a discount. Not an issue for me because it is the figurine I wanted most afterall. Just like Wind and Cloud figurines, Nameless' sword can also be removed.

風雲 Feng Yun: Striding Cloud Bu Jingyun 步惊云 Figurine

As the title suggested, Feng refers to ‘Whispering Wind’ and Yun, Striding Cloud. To complete the pair, I have also gotten the figure of Striding Cloud. In contrast with Whispering Wind, Cloud’s personality appears to be colder towards others except a selected few whom he cares for and respects. The fact that he didn’t not shed a tear when witnessing his family got killed, he’s nicknamed the " God of Death Who Does Not Cry" (不哭死神).

This 4.5” figurine is of the same toyline as the ‘Whispering Wind’ figurine, which I had posted previously. The figurine was sculpted in a way Cloud take the stance of wielding his powerful ‘Sword of Ultimate Superiority’ and at the same time executing his palm stroke with his Kilin arm just like the comic illustration in the first pic.

風雲 Feng Yun : Whispering Wind Nie Feng 聂风 Figurine

I had posted some pics of this Nie Feng figurine previously as a combine post together with Feng Yun / Storm Riders live-action movie. Nevertheless, I think this is a well-sculpt figure that deserved its own post and would pique the interest in many. Not very big, the figurine stands approximately 4.5”, very much like most trading figures without moveable joints. It’s also the only type of Feng Yun figures that’s available before there were 12” & action figures.

The figurine is an image of Nie Feng standing on water illustrating that his emotion is as calm as the quiet water. Looking at Feng on close-up with the eye-patch, he had already blind his left eye by then. Accessories that come with the figurine include snow sabre in metal its scabbard.

The Storm Riders 2 Action Movie

I have put aside the negative comments I received about this movie and see it for myself since I have already watched the first movie ten years ago. First of all, I think that the director had picked the right casts for the movie. Aaron Kwok is back as Cloud with better hairdo, charming Ekin is still Wind and finally Kenny Ho who is undoubtedly the perfect candidate as Nameless. Kenny has left a deep impression in me when he acted in '中華英雄'. It also delights me to see my idol 'Charlene Choi' casted as Second Dream.

Next on the costume! This time round, Cloud looks more cool with the extra armour plate (very knight fantasy look). The armour suit donned by Jue Wu Shen aka Godless looks fierce and strong too! But I feel that Nameless would look better if his costume was made more oriental looking.

Now on the special effect! In my opinion, the CG of this movie is quite nicely done to give a cinematic effect on big screen. It has some resemblance to Frank Miller's '300', comic style graphic, especially the part when Jue Xin, played by Nicholas Tse started the invasion. Somehow, it may be misunderstood that it's copying '300' and the CG was used to compensate the lack of budget in movie making.

If you have watched 'Storm Riders 2', you will realise that there ain't many dialogues and the scenes jumped a little too fast which would have filled audience with much ???? as especially if you don't really follow the comic. It didn't explained the relationship between Wind & Second Dream.

Maybe the majority have set their expectation too high for this movie given the part one's huge success. I agree that the second movie could have been done better but it's definitely not a lousy one. The storyline continuation of 'Storm Riders 2' would be closely tie to the animation movie Storm Riders (Clash of Evils).

There's another Feng Yun figure I have and it's Jue Xin. I know very little of this character and I think he is the son of a formidable foe to Wind and Cloud. His dad 'Jue Wu Shen' is an invader from Japan after Xiong Ba's saga. If I'm not wrong, Nicholas Tse will be play as Jue Xin in Storm Riders 2. Can't wait to watch the movie since I'm a fan of the first movie.

Missed Storm Riders (Clash of Evils) on big screen, so bought the DVD instead. I like the drawing of this anime however the animation chronography can be improved. I believed the anime characters was drawn very closely to the comic and almost all skillful characters in the anime were very cool. The continuation of the live-action movie "The Storm Riders" (starring Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok), this animation picks up from the movie's hackneyed plot. New villains and characters are introduced from the original comics but the highlight should be the battle between Wind and Cloud.

Pardon me for the little knowledge I have for Feng Yun aka Storm Riders comic as I am mainly exposed to very much the movies and TV series. I collect both code 3 and code 1 DVD cos both the DVD covers are attractive. It is especially difficult to find the code 1.

Have watched the movie several times but each time I watched the movie, I feel that the movie is well shot and 3G was quite good for a Hong Kong movie made almost ten years back. I would say this is a classic Hong Kong comic turned movie. News of the movie part 2 would be out soon and I don't think I will miss that.

Feng Yun/ Storm Riders evolves mainly on two important characters namely Wind (Feng) & Cloud (Yun). So I have bought both Wind and Cloud figurines and put them on display in my living room.
