Starship Troopers Johnny Rico Action Figure (Galoob)

Starship Troopers action figure is kind of rare in my region so this is definitely an awesome find. Johnny Rico battles the bugs for survival of the species. The Starship Troopers are humanity's last hope. Stands approximately 6" in height. Accessories include ammo belt, noise suppression system, disposable machine gun ammo canister and nuke grenade (firing missile action). This is IMHO the only one among the other releases that is movie accurate. I didn't include the other accessories in the pics, apart from the M1 rifle because the other accessories seems unnecessary and makes the appearance a lot more childish.

For an action figure made back in 1997, I can't really complain on the details and besides, this figure seems to be made for kids. The face on the figure has a certain degree of likeness to Casper Robert Van Dien Jr. However the neck of the figure makes it looks kind of weird. It seems to be looking upwards too much. The helmet, chest vest and boots is fairly movie accurate unfortunately the pants colour seems a bit off. Perhaps to the grey is too light and gloss, making it less realistic. It's cool that Galoob plays attention to details like the tattoo on the right arm. This is definitely an excellent memorabilia of the movie!"A good bug is a dead bug".

I would love to see more rendition of the Power Armor version from the recent CGI Movie, even better if it is the Marauder Armor.

The CGI Movie is a mixed bag,but Johnny Rico still kicks ass on that one.

Certainly this kind of merchandise is somewhat rare in your side of the world, but as far as I know, it’s not so easy to get figures based on the Starship Troopers franchise in this side of the world either... Besides, Galoop as independent toy brand is already extincted, because it was acquired by Hasbro, so this old toy is only available in the secondary market and its availability could be kind of tricky... It has all the 90’s style (that only people who lived that decade understand, HEHE!)... Albeit is not comparable with current offers by Figma, Bandai, Kaiyodo, Hasbro and the like, you can feel the charm of a franchise that was quite popular worldwide and it more than compensates the shortcomings of an old figure!...

>> Yami - The CGI movie is quite well done and shows the mature side Rico. The power suit is well designed too. Just that the very first movie influenced me the most...

>> Chrismandesign - Any opportunity to get figure of this movie is a bonus. Hasbro sure acquired many of their competitors. Recently, Funko Pop releases Rico and I’m also going to grab that to add on the movie memorabilia collection.

As there are no elbow joints, the pose to hold the machine gun is very weird..

>> Desmond - This is the only available movie accurate Johnny Rico figure. No choice but to accept the imperfections.
