1/72 Scale Hasegawa VF-1S Roy Focker Battroid

I always wanted more Macross model kits but no confidence in handle the delicate details especially with Hasegawa. I have never been more impressed with finished product of Hasegawa after seeing their display during my last Tokyo Otaku trip. I won't mind paying the extra for one such as this. Fully assembled and painted VF-1S Roy Focker Battroid. The senior, the mentor, the hero and the legacy of Skull Leader Roy Focker.

A smaller scale of 1/72 compared to the old Yamato Macross toys but bigger than those recent Hi-Metal series by Bandai. Even though non-Transformable, Macross has its own beauty that can't be explained. It's the appreciation of details, proportionality and refine. Somehow, I know that this kit is more poseable that what's shown on my pics just that I don't want to get too rough so as not break any part.

The recent version made by Bandai looks pretty neat, but i do admit Hasegawa's macross kits are just superb.

So far I haven’t had direct contact with a Hasegawa model kit, but looking at these pictures I can see an incredible level of detail that has nothing to envy to what you get from a Bandai kit !!!... While the possibility of transformation could be more appealing in terms of added value and it works great in an action figure, such concept is not necessarily desirable in a model kit, specially after an extensive and careful paint job, so I totally agree with you in the charm of this Hasegawa model, just as it is; a killer kit, no doubt !!!... =D

Macross toy did reached a level that even transformable unit has great details, all thanx to the evolution design of Yamato. Still there's this charm in model kit that I would still appreciate as a collector.

I'm always practice extra caution with fragile stuff but I can be pretty clumsy at times. Anything can happen ^_^

Lolz.. A great character that you love and hate. It's movie, game, cartoon or anime that immortalized iconic characters.
