1/144 HGUC Jegan RGM-89

EFSF longest serving Mobile Suit serving as Londo Bell task force during timeline of "Char's Counterattack" OVA to colony defenders later during "Mobile Suit Gundam F91" OVA. The economical and simple designed mecha that you won't get tired looking at, with many more variants in "Unicorn Gundam" mini series, beside Jegan's standard Beam Rifle, Beam Saber, and shield. Comes with 2 fists and 1trigger finger hand. Jegan was introduced in the U.C era where MS were built bigger some in 1/144 scale the kit appears slightly bigger than other GMs of the same scale.

One very unusual design of Jegan is that it didn't have any front skirt and ankle armor, so those who are not used to it may find it pretty weird. To on the practical side, the design provide spacious articulation of the legs. There was a previous released of 1/144 scale Jegan however this is 2009 released is by far the best in terms of proportionality and articulated (especially the arms). The shoulders armor articulate, shoulder with improved joints that rotate and goes up and down. The lower torso also has that rotation and forth and back action for more poses.

Bandai had also utilized this mold for many exclusive variants. The drawback of this kit is that the colour scheme isn't quite close to the anime. The actual colour looks pale however it shouldn't bother those who intend to spray their own colours. The kit lacks color on it's shoulder, leg boosters, the boosters on top of the backpack and the vents on the chest which are easily fixed with a set of markers and a steady hand. All I did was to dry brush the entire kit beside panel lining to create more contrast.  Overall good kit, didn't take much time to build and just required a bit of touching up to get the most out of the kit.

i thought that the Jegan Gundam was a single model, but now i realize that is a family of models and i totally agree that the mecha design is outstanding, indeed the head with visor helps a lot in that sense !!!... i think they look very good stripped or fully armored, also it looks like they had many options in terms of armament and even different color schemes... this one you have, is complemented nicely by the weathered effect you added, like it were returning from combat... good work, pal !!!... =)

This is most basic design of Jegan. Somehow, there are a lot of variants of Jegan released as Premium Bandai aka P Bandai. I guess Bandai noted the pool of collectors particularly on this visor MS. In fact, I have a friend who really go for all the different Jegans and he sure is more hardcore than me. Undeniably, the design of this mecha is top notch IMHO. Think it's the same artist of Patlabor Ingram as well.

It is beautifully done bro. Those photos of it against a white background look like a cell-shaded drawing. Either ur Gunpla skill leveled up or your photography skill leveled up (maybe both)
: )

Thank Bro! I have a long way to becoming pro... Haha! I did a bit of touch up so that it will look more decent on display. I normal do dry brushing on rifle. This is the first time I apply the technic on the whole kit ^_^

How tall is it?

1/144 is pretty small standing about 14cm. That's way like 1/100 scale. Too bad thats no Jegan in 1/100 scale from Bandai yet.
