Neon Genesis Evangelion: EVA Unit-03 Action Figure (Kaiyodo)

EVA Unit 03 Black is the ill-fated EVA that becomes infected by the Angels, and takes on demonic qualities, which show through in this figure released by Kaiyodo-Xebec in 2001, an action figure line after SEGA’s version and before Revoltech. A nice paint job and fairly articulated (15 joint-points) of EVA 03 figure from the Neon Genesis Evangelion video series features a black paint scheme, a concept by Gainax (Yoshiyuki Sadamoto). 

Comes with a selection of weaponry and variant hands, for a multitude of poses! Figure stands over 8 inches high and could be taller if not for the hunch. It has 8 total variant hands for different poses interchangeable, another "Fierce" head included, reversing elbows and a pair of elongated arms for crawling spider pose. 

I got mine loose on Ebay and has a broken tab in his hip that can be pressed back into place with no issues. The figure does not really suffer from the hip being broken and could probably be repaired easily. The weapons shown in the pics were not originally manned for EVA-03. 

Robot Damashii - ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam

Stanley likes stuffs that go well under UV lightings and this Robot Damashii Destiny Gundam with effect parts, goes without saying is part of his collection. The second and upgraded Gundam piloted by Shinn Asuka in 'Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny', ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam appeared to be me like an all-in-one, more sinister looking Gundam with the combination of weapons used by Impulse Gundam from melee to long range armament. A drastic improvement to this Gundam used in the later stage of the anime would be the variable phase-shift armour and Hyper-Deuterion Nuclear Reactor which produced the cosmic effect called the 'Wings of Light'. All these fanciful idea provided a lot of gimmicks to Robot Damashii action figure.

Robot Damashii Destiny Gundam comes with a great deal of accessories like beam shield, beam rifle, beam launcher, beam sword, effect parts that attach to the wings, extra hands and even a stand. It highly articulated. However, in my opinion, I find the entire weight of accessories fully loaded, often threw the figure off balance and changing the weapons frequently caused other accessories to fall off. The effect parts like 'Wings of Light' would pull the thrusters downwards and I personally experienced difficulty posing the toy. Robot Damashii Destiny Gundam (125mm) somehow feels bigger/ taller than Robot Damashii I had handed previously. Maybe it's the long beam launcher, beam sword and 'Wings of Light', which took up more space on display.

1/144 RGM-80 GM II Cannon Conversion Kit

Here's a heads-up for GM fans with news of 1/144 GM II Cannon Conversion Kit as 'Appendix' with Hong Kong very owned 'Model Kit World' magazine. It's priced as HK $40 so the commercial pricing after shipping and agent fees should ranged around 10 USD. I had taken some pics of the magazine on the finished product of 1/144 RGM-80 GM II Cannon, in different colour scheme, by professional modelers. You need a HG GM II as an inner frame to complete the model.

I would say the magazine is rather thin with marginally acceptable printing quality and it's mainly paying for the 1/144 RGM-80 GM II Cannon plastic conversion kit. In my opinion, it's still reasonably priced for an alternative and as especially if you are desperately wanting to build your own 1/144 RGM-80 GM II Cannon, now that it's cloudy on the certainty about 'Big B' producing the official version. I didn't have it for myself cos I'm more into 1/100 scale but had bought it for my friends.   

Operation 1-metre Ironman Transfer

"So what did you buy this time!?" was what the postman asked, after he struggled his way, carrying a huge parcel with 1 metre tall Ironman inside to Stanley's doorstep. Obviously Stanley had so many toy shipments lately till the postman could recognised him. Lolz... Stanley's room is so packed with his other toys that he could no longer accommodate this big fellow. He also confessed that this was an impulse buy. Hee! Hee! Let's not teased him anymore : )

Anyway, Kenny saved the day when he offered to house this 1-metre Ironman for the time being and it was rather spontaneous that we proceeded to Stanley's house the day itself with Kenny's dad's lorry like movers to transfer the toy and had it set up at Kenny's house. Considering the operation swift and this 1-metre Ironman looks awesome in the living room with its chest and eyes lighted up! 

The red and orange are also  auspicious colours with the near approaching Chinese New Year. Kenny had also took out his Hot Toys Ironman Mark I (First edition) and just released Iron Monger to show a size comparison. Even the  HT Iron Monger looks petite beside the 1-metre Ironman. 

Sora No Otoshimono - Ikaros Mini Bust

Whenever I enjoyed having watched an anime or played a particular game, there's always a tendency for me to get something tangible related to the source of entertainment and I guess most otakus would have soft-spot for this highly oppai mini bust of Ikaros from 'Sora No Otoshimono' aka 'Heaven's Lost Property'. Ikaros was introduced as a busty Pet-Class Angeloid type Alpha "Pet-Class Angeloid, Type Alpha" who became bonded to Tomoki after he had rescued her from her fall from the sky at the beginning of the story. The bond was symbolized by the mostly invisible chain that leads from her collar to Tomoki's hand. She displays a very submissive, melancholic and subservient personality as shown on the sad expression of this bust. 

It's supposedly a not-for-sale item that came as a furoku (goodie appendix) tied with December 2010 issue of Shonen Ace magazine about manga. This PVC mini bust of Ikaros was manufactured by Kaiyodo and measured approximately 4.5 cm in height and came in a cardboard box package with  hawaii pinko plastic sleeve. One of the very first Sora No Otoshimono merchandise closed to trading figure before any doyasha related to the anime was released.
