Non Grade NG Blitz Gundam GAT-X207 1/100 Scale

Around 80% painted

V-Fin was sprayed yellow

Removable three lancer darts

Gleipnir claw attack opens and close for melee attack

Another Non Grade NG 1/100 scale from my Mobile Suit Gundam Seed collection is Blitz Gundam that was released when the anime first aired. The introduction of an unusual 1/100 scale Gunpla at that time with High Grade HG technology. Nonetheless Gundam Seed's 1/100 Gunpla are quite impressive even till today and we're sure the Blitz Gundam will be no exception!

Well, the Gunpla is not as sleek as it supposed to be. Quite the break through in Gundam designs during that era. The GAT-X207 Blitz Gundam is developed for the purpose of conducting surprise attacks deep behind enemy lines therefore the black colour scheme is the choice for stealthiness.

In the anime, pilot Nicol Amalfi's Blitz utilizes a stealth-based system for a unique battlefield advantage. Kind of like an invisible mode using Mirage Colloid to penetrate the defences of the supposedly impregnable Earth Alliance's Atlantic Federation space fortress Artemis by disabling its shield. Its armament are all arm-mounted and consists of a grappling claw and an offensive shield system, which mounts both melee and range, beam as well as non-beam weapons.

In this kit, Blitz's Gleipnir claw attack opens and close for melee attack and removable three lancer darts. Unfortunately, Blitz is the first Gundam in the series to meet its end but triggered the twist to the plot and fast forward the pace exponentially.

MG 1/100 GAT-X105 Strike Aile Gundam

An amazingly detailed and fully posable snap-fit Master Grade MG model of Aile Strike Gundam, I'm ready to replace my Non Grade version on display. 1/100 scale stands 8 inches tall and doesn't dissappont! No doubt on posabilitis as the endoskeleton frame, double jointed feet and improved shoulders range of motion are just some of the features which this gunpla contributed to the modern standard of today. Try using the display stand which double up as a launcher platform as well, if you have the luxury of space for display. The base configuration of the GAT-X105 Strike is armed with two Igelstellung 75 mm CIWS, two Armor Schneider combat knives, and a 57 mm high-energy beam rifle.

Like all the other mobile suits of the G Project in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, the Strike is equipped with Phase Shift armor, which renders it virtually immune to all manner of physical attacks. However, due to the armor's high energy requirements and the limited power reserves afforded by its energy battery, the Strike cannot keep PS armor activated for long. The Strike and its variants all use the General Unilateral Neuro-link Dispersive Autonomic Maneuver Synthesis System operating system.

I got mine fully painted and really like the light shading on the edges. Just need a few well-defined insignias and clean finish would do the trick. When you first step into a cockpit on a robot or a gundam, what happen next? Either you freak out with the massive controls or you do it like Kira Yamato! Adding to the display is gentle yet lethal pilot Kira Yamato trading figure with his sweet heart. Strike Gundam is close to my heart for it's similarities to the first Gundam and its significant in the anime, playing a critical role in the plot, right from Kira Yamato to Mu La Flaga protecting Arch Angel.

Non Grade NG 1/100 GAT-X105 Aile Strike Gundam

A comparison with MG version (MG on right and NG on left)

MG on left having a longer wing span

We know that Bandai wouldn't jump into MG production of any leading Gundam upon new series airing and from past experiences, we would first expect a Non Grade 1/100 scale. Only after you are all done with the basic kit, Bandai would release the MG version, probably after a decade or so during anniversary to reignite your interest once more and at the same time comfort you that the wait was finally over for the best sculpted 1/100 scale Gunpla of your favourite Gundam!

Still impressive with this vintage Gundam Seed model series, Aile Strike Gundam kit stood in my display with pride. Aile Strike Gundam comes complete with its beam rifle, shield, and beam saber. No much decals for this however I applied additional decals manned for MG as a form of upgrade before replacing it with MG. I did sprayed the rifle metallic black and matter top coat on the Gundam.

This kit has the poseability equivalent to a HG Gunpla. Rotatable shoulders that bends back and forth, not for waist which rotate left and right. Finally limbs articulations enabling ready stance and even iconic action poses. Unlike the MG, it does has open-fist-hands therefore comes with optional stiff hands. It carries conventional MS weapons like beam rifle and shield.

The best feature would be the Aile Strike pack which give incredible speed and balanced in both offense and defense, and more importantly, can fly in mid-air. Decent proportionality only having boarder legs. Its wing span ain't as long and sleek compared to the MG version. That's for now and I would touch on more on the MG version in later post.

Non Grade 1/100 Scale Justice Gundam

Vintage kits that was first introduced together with the anime 'Mobile Suit Gundam Seed'. One of my older collection with lots of charm back then. Now it's out of my inventory in the care of a new owner, part of my plan to down size my Gundam Seed display. Simple touch up to this kit by adding extra water slide decals, drawing panel lines and matte top coat. It's still cool by today's standard, just that it looks a bit bulky when compared to the improved Master Grade version. It's still pretty posable and ideally in flight mode with the use of base stand sold separately.

This kit was kept very long and I couldn't find the double ends saber handle as well as the unpainted Cagalli Yule Athha. Since Bandai, had included the pilot, Athrun Zala in the Aegis Gundam set, they threw in his girlfriend as the bonus figure instead. Fortunately, the beam rifle and shield are still intact. The rifle can be anchored at the rear. The sharp edges in white, the shoulders are supposedly beam boomerangs however Bandai didn't made it detachable as a gimmick.

IMHO, the most outstanding and distinctive feature of Justice Gundam definitely is definitely the Fatum-00 backpack. The the anime, Fatum-00 either attached to the rear as Aile Flight Pack or act as a hovercraft for Justice Gundam to stand on. One problem Fatum-00 posed as a kit is that it weighed the figure down so the figure tends to fall to the rear.
