Ultraman King 6" Vinyl Figure

The 2008 released is taller than the 1988 released and 2008 released has a sharper beard sculpt

Looking from the rear, the upper body armour plate design looks different too. The proportion of silver and purple are very different as well.

Both these soft vinyl figures have their year of production  as shown on the foot of the figure, together with the Bandai authenticity mark.

The 1988 released has rather straight and stiff arms and a larger belt buckle.

Every kingdom has to have a king so we look for the supreme Ultraman King. Look out monsters Ultraman King is here, he who is the most majestic and powerful Ultra in his Showa Ultraman universe. No doubt the oldest Ultraman and yeah you can tell by his beard. The other Ultra picture him as a God or The Elders.

Some say that since he is the ancient Ultra to live before the Plasma Spark was created, he might be the only one that knows what happened before the Ultra live without the Plasma Spark. Despite the name, he isn't the King of the Ultras or the Land or Light. He once told Ultraman Hikari that he have many name but adopted the “King” name due to his love toward the human race. Some said that he is similar to Ultraman Noa.

He appeared in many of the other Ultra's battle and even featured to fused with Ultraman Greed. In the show of the series Ultraman Leo, King appeared when Leo was fighting Alien Pressure. King assisted Leo and also gave him his Mantle.

We are looking at two Bandai Ultra Hero Series vinyl Ultraman King 6" figure from past to present. A more recent 2009 released as well as the 1988 released. The eye colour of Ultraman King is very different to common Ultraman as he has red eyes.

Both these soft vinyl(sofubi)figures have their year of production  as shown on the foot of the figure, together with the Bandai authenticity mark. As you would have noticed, the vinyl figures doesn't come with the cape that Ultraman King always don so it could be somehow a letdown. For those who wants a more accurate figure of this character, try Ultra Act articulated figure by Bandai. The 2008 released is taller than the 1988 released and 2008 released has a sharper beard sculpt.

Looking from the rear, the upper body armour (similar to green power ranger) plate design looks different too. The proportion of silver and purple are very different as well. The 1988 released has rather straight and stiff arms and a larger belt buckle. Simple standing figures with whopping 3 points of articulation as most of the vinyl figures did (arms and waist). In comparison with the newer 6" figures, the vintage seems to have thicker material and glossier surface.

Ya, it’s quite odd looking Ultraman. The older vinyl figure in Hero series may not be as good in sculpt and I guess something is great missing without cape.
