Dragon Ball Z Super Android 13 Movie Collection Series 9" Figure

Some might not be familiar with Android 13 since he only made his appearance in the 7th DBZ anime movie and like all other DBZ Androids created by Dr Gero, programmed to get rid of Sun Goku. The figure I'm having here is Jakks Pacific Dragon Ball Z Movie Collection Super Android 13 action figure. Super Android 13 is the second and final transformation of Android 13 after he absorbed the CPU of Android 14 and 15. The humanoid turns into a smurf beast gaining a lot more mass and metal plates on upper body! He's like a Super Saiyan Broly in Android mode IMHO. Even his hair seems Super Saiyan! Lolz...

This Jakks Pacific released was for American market so it was quite a surprise to find at my local flea market. This is second re-released by Jakks Pacific, the original was opaque blue plastic and mine is the translucent blue parts. A very cool and badass look with painted yellow eyes and different tones of orange on the hair. The sculpt is fairly accurate and pretty detailed as you can even see those bulging veins on the arms. Not much but some good points of articulation given the massive material which gave the figure a lot of weight.  Stands proudly at 9" and easily stare down his opponent. Not to mention how awesome he looks on display.

Jakks Pacific is a brand for which I have much respect, they develop and manufacture nice and affordable toys; somehow they managed to get some great licenses, like this of Dragon Ball, but their work is also interesting with other franchises !!!... Indeed is a rarity to find an item intended for the western market in the east and vice versa, you were able to get the "translucent" version that looks odd and yet it fits this unique character (albeit this finishing is much less forgiving with the paint job); they added shades and texture to the painted surfaces, also the sculpt, size and weight are points in favor for this Android 13 (Super version), that due to its fleeting presence in the DBZ universe, has also very little presence in the collectibles market !!!... =D

Jakks Pacific is very much known for Dragon Ball DBZ and WWE figurines and they do have relatively good sculpt that resemble the character very much. Durable figures with pricing under control. Unfortunately it's not easy to access DBZ fingurines by Jakks Pacific here and I got mine mainly thru Ebay with shipment cost added. The blue translucent seems kind of awkward to me too and I would rather have the original opaque. I do like the third party resin statue of Android 13 (Super version) but have to set my budget on other toys instead.

this figure reminded me more of Blanka from that Street Fighter 2 arcade video games - especially if you repainted it into green LOL LOL LOL....
