Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Okita Jyuzou 1/8 Scale Figure

A round translucent base in a form of a bottle cap, bearing the United Nations Space Navy logo.

It's about time they put aside all those Space Battleship Yamato Girls' Collection figures and dish out the real man! Attention! Captain on board and pay some respect to the Captain of Space Battleship Yamato, Admiral Okita Jyuzou. Most anime in the 80s used to portray ship captain as mature-old-guy before the trend shifted to cute intelligent young girl like, Yurika Misumaru, in Nadesico.

Proud of Megahouse to release this 1/8 scale with the detail and high quality Captain Okita Jyuzou, portrayed in anime 'Space Battleship Yamato 2199'. Commemorative and a great tribute to the anime's come back to win the hearts of new generation mecha announcers by retelling the story with up-to-date drawing.

Don't that I dislike 'Macross Delta', just that I seriously think that 'Super Dimenional Fortress Macross' deserved a makeover, like 'Space Battleship Yamato 2199' rather than going Walkure. I do welcome the figure a lot just to display it beside my Mechanics Space Yamato Mechanic File trading figures set.

Manly figure which wore the uniform of they United Nations Space Navy (emblem on the left upper arm) and Association Star fleet admiral looks smart from top the bottom. I like those large collars, the anchor badge on left chest, the X-Men looking belt buckle and side arm holster pouch. Anime correct face sculpt with realistic eyes, even those wrinkles nicely drawn.

Optional right arms for salute or arm by the side poses. Replaceable hands between open palm and close fist. Unfortunately, the figure can't hold up on its own and needs to be fixed to the base stand.

Nice pose with the ship! No doubt captain Okita Jyuzo is the best character in the Space Battleship Yamato for being a badass Stoic Captain. SRW also had character based on him but not as awesome as Okita

I can’t help but feeling that Megahouse Statues, at least in this case, achieves basically the same quality of Banpresto Statues, and that’s a compliment for Banpresto which, as far as I know is more affordable... What I find quite attractive, on the other hand, is the work on the stand base, nicely molded, with translucent effect and mechanical feeling; it’s indeed a great complement for the statue of a character that I certainly recognize... Well, in fact I own a gashapon of this character, belonging to a set of 5 that I love and which is hard to come by lately, maybe because of the recent remake of the story that put Yamato Battleship in the spotlight again !!!... =D

Yeah bro! I wanted very much to add Yamato Spaceship at the background. I also watched SRW and yes they have both old school captain as well as moe captain : )

You sure have high regards for Banpresto! I still think Banpresto still have more to catch up to Megahouse. No complaint against Banpresto as they make really nice budget toys. On the other hand, Megahouse is a different league which most well associate with high quality figurines.
