I'm back ... Tokyo Otaku Trip 20th ~ 29th September 2016

Three-hour-train-ride to Fujisan station. Even though the misty surrounding had blocked the view of Mount Fuji, we at least managed to relax ourselves at high altitude onsen (hot bath)

We were lucky enough to catch the Pokémon 'Farfetch', exclusive to the region during our trip.
Definitely satisfying and fulfilling to conquer the Pokémon gym @ Odaiba Diver City 1/1 scale Gundam.

72th Super Festival Tokyo - A large scale toy sale like flea-market and we are privileged to dealer admission thanks to my friend's contact.

Tokyo Disneyland, setting a personal record of taking 'Star Tour' rides, four times with multiple scenes. Enjoyed the sunset view and Disney parade especially the finale fireworks display.

Since its Pokémon craze, we included visiting Pokémon Center
(Unfortunately no sighting of Snorlax plush toy)

Pasela - Evangelion theme KTV room and cafe just one street away from my Hotel (APA Akihabara hotel). I booked the whole room for a meal during OTOT.. excellent service and staffs who tried their best explain how the KTV works.

Our all-time favourite restaurant is definitely 'Nakau' outlet at Akihabara, opposite Dormy Inn. Best since my last trip three years back.

Exclusive card of Kantai Collection girl eating 'Nakau' meal

Back to reality after my nine solid days of otaku trip to Tokyo Japan with most of my time spent at Akihabara. The trip is not all about toys but an experiential one. Hmm still there were plenty of toys browsing.. lolz I'm contradicting myself. My companions and I had taken three-hour-train-ride to Fujisan station. Even though the misty surrounding had blocked the view of Mount Fuji, we at least managed to relax ourselves at high altitude onsen (hot bath). Learning point would be to check weather forecast before proceeding to view Mount Fuji. Good thing I had seen the view and gone up to the snowy part of Mount Fuji during my honeymoon trip more than a decade ago.

We had spent an entire day @ Tokyo Disneyland, setting a personal record of taking 'Star Tour' rides, four times with multiple scenes. Enjoyed the sunset view and Disney parade especially the finale fireworks display. Since its Pokémon craze, we included visiting Pokémon Center (Unfortunately no sighting of Snorlax plush toy) @ Ikebukuro, which it also a place saturated with anime and toys. We were lucky enough to catch the Pokémon 'Farfetch', exclusive to the region during our trip. It's not as easy as I first thought cos it didn't spawn that often and we had to run almost 2km for our first catch. Definitely satisfying and fulfilling to conquer the Pokémon gym @ Odaiba Diver City 1/1 scale Gundam. Unfortunately, I'm not able to access the 'Pay Zone' of 'Gundam Front' as tickets were sold out due to overwhelming visitors. Perhaps it's better to visit Diver City on weekdays and get the tickets early before shopping.

We were able to attend two events during the trip starting with '56th All Japan Model and Hobby Show 2016' @ Tokyo Big Sight and '72th Super Festival Tokyo' @ Tokyo Science Museum. Lotz of Macross ecstasy @ '56th All Japan Model and Hobby Show 2016' and cool to see MG GM Sniper II exhibited. '72th Super Festival Tokyo' was a large scale toy sale like flea-market and we are privileged to dealer admission thanks to my friend's contact.

For toy shopping hotspots, do try Akihabara Hobby Paradise - A must visit for mecha and anime figure fans. Akihabara Trader store and nearing game stores for new and retro ones Nakano Boardway for pre-owned and vintage toys especially Mandarake.

As for Akihabara, try Radio Kaikan near SEGA building, Hobby Off opposite Yodobashi, Golden Age, Tam Tam, Jungle, Surugaya and Akiba Zone. Stores with awesome display includes VOLKS, Kotobukiya, Yellow Submarine, Yamashiroya (Ueno), Tamashii Nations Akiba Showroom and Yodobashi.

Pasela - Evangelion theme KTV room and cafe just one street away from my Hotel (APA Akihabara hotel). I booked the whole room for a meal during OTOT.. excellent service and staffs who tried their best explain how the KTV works. They serve many desserts and of course the Gundam White Base cake! Our all-time favourite restaurant is definitely 'Nakau' outlet at Akihabara, opposite Dormy Inn. Best since my last trip three years back. Some really nice sweet treats I had there included those fresh and hot Churro along the street of Ikebukuro and Taiyaki along the street of Tokyo Taito Asakusabashi. I returned to have the custard waffle at Gundam Cafe (Diver City) again as it taste good and brought back fond memories. I had the chance to try the huge Takoyaki at Ikebukuro for novelty just like dinning @ Gundam cafe.

Yeah! I'm very keen of taking pics. Hope they are helpful and you would enjoy browsing. Too many to post on blog so link to FB more feasible. Something I learn from you.

I can see some familiar places in the pictures, as well as others that were not your priority in previous trips... Man, it’s always great to visit the country of the rising sun (albeit this time the mist made this title a bit contradictory LOL), even more when you could experience the "other" Japan and well, life is not only about toys and collectibles, it could be uncomfortable to sit on a chogokin while you’re enjoying a visit to the onsen, right ???... LOLOLOLOLOL... =D

Yeah bro, it's more or less the same place I visited the last time round. I will likely to include Ginza Shinjuku, Hakone and Tokyo Sky Tree in my itinerary in my trip. OMG, I'm already planning lolz
