HGUC MS-14F Gelgoog Marine Built & Painted

Gelgoog integrated development plan during late OYW was unable to be carried out full scale. Therefore these Gelgoog variants also appeared to fill specific mission roles, and one variant was the MS-14F Gelgoog Marine. Built exclusively for Zeon's marine troops, the Gelgoog Marine featured improved thrusters, speed and maneuverability, as well as external propellant tanks to increase its range while offsetting the extra fuel used by its more powerful thrusters. For a start, they are deployed for special mission, recognized for their thick armor. Their verniers and radiation tank are large in size which account for the outlook.

Just like the Zaku, the leader type will have antenna on the forehead. The marine model was later diverse or improved to Jaeger as time established. Head design of most Gelgoog are almost identical. There is heat dissipating fin that goes right to the back of the head. Gelgoog Marine, larger seen in year UC 0083 within Delaz Fleet, participated in the deployment of Solomon Nightmare to rally the Principality of Zeon. They are a serious threat to Albion Corps as these former principality army, remains as one of the best high-performance machine grunt units. Gelgoog Marine's standard equipment is a machine gun (80-90mm machine gun principality military equipment capable of late-type firearms grenade launcher for the general MS) instead of a beam rifle, unless pilot fall under the Ace category.

This MS is specialized for substantially space combat, since the operating time and cruising distance extension, it will be equipped with a propeller plant tank large. Instead of spike shield mount on shoulder like Zaku, Gelgoog effective latched it to forearm shield, an obvious equipment of offense and defense together that was so even used in the equipment to defense also attacked the spike. The twin beam sword of the original Gelgoog was replaced with two standard beam sabers, and a 110mm machine cannon was mounted on each forearm.

i was not familiarized with the Gelgoog or its role in the Gundam series and when i saw the model kits available, the only thing i could realize, was its similitude with the Zaku... now, thanks to your publication, i know that it’s a special unit, made for specific missions and apparently, a contemporary of the Zaku... very nice paint job pal !!!... the "sfumato" effects, improve the sense of volume; some modelers are reluctant to use them in favor of a more clean appearance, but i think this affect adds a bit of dramatism to the piece !!!... =D

Actually, I'm also learning more about the MS after my friend passed over this kit to me for review. I had to read up a bit and thanx to Google translation hand phone apps which I'm able to take photo of the Japanese text on instruction Manuel and had it roughly translated. I think Kenny did a good job with the slight weathering effect, penal line washing technique and matte top coat. The airbrush color were also well mixed with close accuracy to the anime. The nubs were well trimmed and sand for an even smooth surface.

I like the design of this Zaku's head.

Yeah! Compared to the RGM, the mono-eye has a more badass appearance.
