This is one figure which I could finally struck out from my wish list. It had been a long search that finally prevail. Arngrim or Aluze depending on whether it's Japanese translation or name in English version, was a player character in the reputable RPG game with sequels by Square Enix titled 'Valkyrie Profile'. Once a holy soldier turned mercenary, Arngrim is a warrior class fighter who wield an over sized long blade like most berserkers that appeared in anime.
Though 'Valkyrie Profile' figurines released as Trading Arts were for both Japan and outside , Arngrim was however not released in the card packaging released in western continents. It was only available for Japan market as candy toy, which made it scarce in number, beside the overall appearance and paint work of this figure is remarkable and his fearsome onslaught pose. It stands approximately 4-5" tall and includes a clear display base. Anyway, the figure is able to hold up on its own. For a trading figure, it definitely has lotz of details. Just that I had to pay a bit more to secure it. Actually a bit bit more...

Bro, I like his big blade..
I always like this kind of character that wield big sword over magic caster. Guess I belong to the hit and slash ^_^
HEHE... another videogame to add to the list of unknowns... i wish that collectibles with this level of quality were offered as candy toys, but the only stuff with some resemblance to the one you published, are the Kinder Egg toys =/... i can see why this mini-figure became a hard-to-catch item, the character was very well depicted and the metallic finishing in the armor along with the menacing sword make it stand out, great work everywhere and a perfect complement for the other figures you already got from the same series... it was worth your extra monetary effort !!!... =)
I'm only know mainly characters from RPG games in the past while I'm not really keeping up to recent games released. I'm glad this video game has it's playable characters assembled for trading figures. This series of trading figure indeed surpassed the standard in comparison to many other releases. They are even better than some other recent roll-out. The game might be obsolete but figures reminded us of the good old times of playing game console. Now, I use my PS3 more often to watch YouTube rather than playing games.. LOL
