Welcome to Dennis' Top Ten Toys (TTT) 2025
1. Onell Design x Realhead Stryker Lock Mowhawk Shadow
Stryker Lock Crossborg Shadow - RealxHead x Onell Design
Wanted the pair for years and finally found them!
Love the nostalgia and extra meaningful getting at Super Toy Festival from Mr Kaminaga.
3. Sharing the same spot are both Real Goccodo and Real Punk
Love both the collaboration among the finest toy artists.
4. Quiccs Bancho RX-63 stand and squatting version
One of the best designs of Quiccs and of course the ideal Gundam colorway.
5. The OG Aitsu complete my PDS collection full circle.
Anything Aitsu in the collaboration Aitsu share the same spot!
Patlabor Alphonse Unit-01 Ingram is one of my favorite mecha and definitely thrill to get the painted sofubi of this machine.
The first Quiccs 6” sofubi that’s made in Japan… I once missed the surprise drop during Super Toy Fest 2024 and gladly got hold of it during POP Toy Show. That lost and found feeling is memorable.
Easily one of the strongest and most impressive PDS robot releases to date.
This fusion of mecha aesthetics and sneaker culture creates a unique hybrid of design language.
Mecha toy in the form of sofubi with a hefty size standing approximately 10”… Layzner as depicted in Kunio Okawara’s design has a strong Gundam resemblance
Thoughts for 2025 — No Toy, No Life.
As I continue my Top Ten Toys (TTT) tradition this year, it’s clear that 2025 has been full-throttle on sofubi. Once again, picking only ten pieces proved almost impossible. And as always, TTT brings its fair share of “controversies” like having two or more toys sharing the same spot—whether by the same artist or within the same category.
All of us face our own challenges and battles in life, so let’s try not to judge and instead be kind whenever we can. This year, I’ve also accepted that sometimes I disappoint others, and that’s okay—because in the bigger picture, it holds little weight. Life is more than work; we must treasure ourselves and the people we love.
I’m only human. I may unintentionally hurt others, and I’ve learned that I cannot please everyone. To be human is to feel the full spectrum of emotions—positive or negative. So I choose to forgive others, forgive myself and focus on finding happiness. I’m deeply grateful to my wife, parents, and friends for being there through both the good and the difficult moments.
This year also brought memorable hobby adventures like visiting Bangkok, visiting Shanghai and Osaka Expo to see the 1:1 scale Gundam and reconnect with my Japanese friend, traveling to Malaysia for Super Toy Festival, exploring the Johor Bahru Collector’s Flea Market, thrifting at Jalan Jalan Japan (KL & JB), boothing at Retro Revival III at SAFRA Mount Faber, and attending POP Toy Show and Singapore Comic Con.
Thank you to everyone who supported me and showed interest in what I do. Happy holidays, and may the coming year be even better. May the Force be with you as always.
