Toy Gamer Shop - Japan Anime Otaku Shop @ Johor

Stanley and I travelled to Skudai Parade Shopping Complex 81300 Skudai, Johor wanting to visit JS Hobby shop, unfortunately they were closed for Gunpla Builders World Cup GBWC 2015 Johor Qualifiers. Anyway, we were there on a Thursday it happened to be their rest day. What luck! Well, we still had some luck on our side to find Japanese Otaku Shop specialised in video games, cards, anime merchandise and of course toys. The shop highly recommended for their top-notch customer service.

The shop owner, Edward, was really friendly and customer-oriented. He had shared with us his in-depth knowledge of anime and even his travel experiences @ Akihabara, right from anime to underground idol. He had also showed us his personal collection of Nintendo Amiibo figures and narrated to us its interaction with multiple games on the Wii U and 3DS.

Very nice of Edward to entertain us even though we hogged the place for three hours. Cosy place with sofa, television, video player and game console to rest while chit-chatting and atmosphere of hobby place rather than profit driven shop. Toy Gamer Shop would organised cosplay gathering occasionally to promote this culture. They take pre-order as well so do check out their Facebook

Space Battleship Yamato Mechanic File

Suddenly crave for a carrier toy after watching Space Battleship Yamato 2199. Have watch the live action movie a years back but following the entire remake anime of the original proofed to hard to resist the merchandise. If you're a fan of the anime series then this is a must have. I was looking for a budget toy of Space Battleship Yamato and was lucky to get this toy or should I say toys from an assembly of 8 trading figure boxes, released back in 2005 by Bandai. Mine was procured within my budget, of course if you are going for a more premium piece, you can go for the chogokin version. For details and perfection, the 1/700 scale Bandai model kit is another option.

An entire 8 piece set of the parts configure the entire battleship. Each trading figure set are section and modular of the ship form inside out, its pre-painted and the interior (rubber like internal components) can be seen once the outer hull is removed. When put together it formed a 15" Space Battleship Yamato on black plastic stand. In comparison, this version is little smaller than a 1/700 scale Bandai kit. The set required some assembly with those main turrets on plastic model kit tree, other parts are snap fitted so there is no gluing needed. 2 other the trading box even come with pre-painted miniature rubber planes.

Because of the 8 sections joined together, lines and gaps can be seen running the model. Another drawback is that when handling the model, it tends to comes apart and I suggest using blu-tag in securing those alignment stands. Most of the parts are matted but some gloss and plastic looking, so I had sprayed matte epoxy to even the surface.

Shueisha presents To Love-Ru's Haruna Sairenji Figure

To Love-Ru Darkness 2nd is out and Stanley has passed me his favourite highly sexuality Haruna Sairenji fixed pose figure. Sorry bro, I had to capture the infamous short skirt pantsu shot of Haruna in her high school uniform. Sweetness 100% to this 1/8 scale Haruna from To Love Ru by Shueisha under Solid Selection line (SSS) of heroine who has strong feelings for Rito and one the Rito had confessed his love too! Haruna Sairenji Comes with a wooden stand base with metal plate with Haruna's name on it. Unfortunately the metal plate had tarnished over time, to think that the figure was released back in Aug 2008. Sure didn't seem that the manga and anime had been around so long. The figure managed to bring out a decent and shyness just like Haruna in the anime. Her facial sculpt remained faithful to the anime and her eyes were simply beautiful.
