Tamashii Nations Akiba Showroom

Since the majority travelled by public transport especially train for the Japanese, it's obvious that advertisement and product showcase should be done at train stations. Here @ Akihabara JR Line Train Station, you would be surrounded by anime/manga pop culture as soon as you got down the train. I had mentioned previously about anime/manga leaflets or flyers at the rack inside the station but I guessed that had missed out those digital posters on anime/manga you would see over at Akihabara Station.

Agent 'S' and by now you known is Stanley and I was finding our way to get around the area and by chance came across Akiba Showroom. Maybe not by chance since leading Japanese toy manufacturer 'Bandai' must be thought of picking this strategic location (Akihabara station's East-West Hall) that's highly accessible for tourist. Tamashii Nations Akiba Showroom is a admission-free walk-in gallery with the aim of showcasing nicely posed, Bandai's upcoming products from the Mobile Suit Gundam (Metal Build & Robot Tamashii) , Kamen Rider - Super Sentai S.H.Figuarts, Saint Seiya, Chogokin & etc...

Tiger & Bunny Movie - The Rising

Just caught Tiger & Bunny - The Rising at Cathay cinema yesterday together with Stanley. I remember watching the first T&B movie together with Alfred months back. Anyway, Tiger & Bunny - The Rising was released in Japan some time in February this year but it's better to be late than never. I was told by Stanley that Cathay had brought the movie to audiences in Singapore in collaboration with AFA and I also saw Odex' involvement screen clip before the start of the movie. From my observation, there weren't many people in the smaller scale cinema likely due to the odd showtime. It happened to my off day and Stanley had took time off from office hour to catch this Friday afternoon 5.20pm timing.

Unlike the previous T&B movies which are side stories in between the main plot, 'The Rising' continued from where the series ended to how T&B rebounded back from 2nd league even after Tiger's power had reduced to only 1 minute unleash. The movie had a few moments which fished out hilarious part of the series and cleverly brought some new moves to the heroes. One hero 'Great Ryan' was introduced in the movie intendedly as Bunny's new partner but we all know that Kotetsu Tiger san is just irreplaceable. Entertaining movie whereby each hero were given almost the equal attention plus new sponsors like Lotte & Banpresto. Bonjour Heroes ^_^

Synopsis - The city of Stern Bild is protected by corporate superheroes known as NEXT, who fight crime while promoting their sponsors on the popular show "HERO TV." Veteran hero Wild Tiger relies on his years of experience and instincts to fight crime, but his tendency to destroy public property for the sake of protecting the lives of the innocent has earned him the nickname "Crusher for Justice." Now, under orders from his new employer, Wild Tiger finds himself forced to team up with Barnaby Brooks Jr., a rookie with an attitude. Two polar opposites work to fight evil in this thrilling buddy-hero action series!

Non Grade NG - 1/100 Scale Aegis Gundam GAT-X303

Aegis Gundam GAT-X303 made its appearance as prototype attack use transformable mobile suit in Gundam Seed first season, stolen by ZAFT (Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty) assigned to Ace pilot Athrun Zala (I have included a trading figure of Athrun Zala in my pics). 1/100 HG Aegis Gundam GAT-X303 as released in late February of 2003 when Gundam seed TV series was first aired and to think that Bandai planed to have MG version released a decade late during the commemoration of the anime's 10th anniversary.

Even thought this is an old kit, it has proven itself as a state of an art being able to transform from Mobile Suit mode to Mobile Armor cruise mode, and reconfigured even further to attack mode! The drawback was that the transformation mechanism had made this the gundam looks board that's why the MG was launched to refine it. However a ten years wait sure is a test of patience. As for me, I'm contented with this Gunpla and grateful given to me by otaku friend, Stanley.

Gunpla comes with Aegis Gundam's distinctive 60mm high energy beam rifle, beam saber and shield. In general the kit is made fairly detailed with the imperfection of obvious seam lines. The stickers provided are limited so I had panel-lined and added other decals for more contrast. Perhaps a darker red tone to the plastic would bring the colour closer to the Aegis Gundam in anime.
